To quote: With this new version this time round andbey0nd tells us that his tool now has the ability to be used with ANY CFW (Cobra/TB/Kmeaw/Rebug/MFW 3.41 and 3.55) utilizing syscall35 , fixed a bug that was present in Rev1 and made the package smaller. So with that said we present you with gameDATA Tool (Rev2) and changelog below:

What does it do?

  • Allows the user to switch location of [game data] between internal HDD and first external USB HDD
  • Allows to install PSN games (or any application/pkg) to external USB HDD
  • Allows to get back to normal mode when you use "Ext. Game Data" option in multiMAN
  • Allows saving space on internal HDD

Changelog:
9.00 (multiMAN 04.55.00+)

  • Added support for 4.50DEX, 4.53CEX, 4.55CEX

8.00 (multiMAN 04.46.00+)

  • Added support for 4.46CFW

7.00 (multiMAN 04.40.00+)

  • Added support for 4.41CFW

6.00 (multiMAN 04.30.00+)

  • Added support for 4.40CFW

5.00 (multiMAN 04.20.00+)

  • Support new 'mM payload' introduced in multiMAN 04.20.00

p.s. It is only compatible with mM 04.20.00+ and its own payload and won't work with other payloads or redirections set by other tools/managers. For previous versions of multiMAN use an earlier version of the gameDATA tool.

4.00 (multiMAN 04.13.00)

  • working on 4.21REBUG/4.30ROGERO v2 CFWs

3.00r2 (multiMAN 04.09.00)

  • Updated gameDATA3, lastGAME3 and bdRESET3 to support 4.30CFW

3.00r1 (multiMAN 04.08.00)

  • Improved support in lastGAME, gameDATA and bdRESET applications

3.00 (multiMAN 04.07.01)

  • Updated gameDATA app to version 3.00

GameDATA (rev 2)

  • Installs on all connected USB drives (but uses the first detected USB for the game-data storage)
  • Works properly after a clean PS3 start (when no payloads are preloaded by other tools/managers) (bugfix from rev 1)
  • Added "(utilizing syscall35)"
  • Supports all firmwares: MFW/CFW 3.41, 3.55, including Cobra 3.55 and TrueBlue 3.55 (utilizing syscall35)
  • Smaller in size (124KB on internal HDD and 47KB on external USB)

Props to Jay-jay for extending its features.

  • Initial version

i installed the .pkg and when i go to the application it says Game Data Mode[USB], when i click it to run it,it changes to Game Data Mode[HDD] and i cant play any game cause all the apps or games become unrecognized... how does this actually works?

can someone be more specific? i mean, i have a lot of .pkg installed in my internal (over 50 gb) and of course i want to transfer them to my 2TB external... is that possible and how?any help will be appreciated...

i haven't tried it yet, but there shouldn't be the usual 4gb+ limit? there are no psn games/applications with such big files? and for who has tried it, once you close the psn game can you go back and start multiman or other games without rebooting? because if you try the external data option in multiman the only way to use other programs (that are not on the external hdd) is to reboot the ps3... quite annoying...

yes, I have an 80GB ps3 and I don't have internal space to spare, installing the new god of war games and beyond good and evil on external will be a dream come true for me. I have a 2TB external drive

This homebrew is really useful, especially for me that i have an old 40 GB PS3

If I understand correctly this should also resolve the compatibility with some games that it was not possible to boot from external HD, simply awesome
