139w ago - Update #2: Anonymous have now issued another Press Release essentially stating that they plan to cease the attacks on Sony but intend to pursue other ways of getting Sony's attention.
Update: GameSpot.com reports that Sony has now stated the following to their PSN customers regarding the recent attacks, to quote: "If this is indeed caused by such [an] act, we want to once again thank our customers who have borne the brunt of the attack through interrupted service. Our engineers are working to restore and maintain the services, and we appreciate our customers' continued support."
As a follow-up to our previous article, today PlayStation LifeStyle (linked above) interviewed the Anonymous hacking group that has been attacking Sony who states the worst is yet to come, while KickArss.com has shared a fix for those experiencing issues with PSN.
From the PSL interview: "So far, all Sony has seen from us is poking and prodding. A simple salute to let them know, we're coming. Make no mistake, what you saw today and thought to be frustration is merely preparation for what's to come. We said, expect us. Counting us out, would be a mistake.
For the sake of not shooting ourselves in the foot, I won't comment on specific operational tactics we may or may not employ here. I will however say, that if Sony thinks LOIC (Low Orbit Ion Cannon) is the only trick in our hat... they're in for a hell of a wake up call. We're really going all out for this one.
There are many different faces to the operation. Something we encourage is creative thinking. To the consumers I would say... Before you judge us, take the time to understand us."
Anonymous have also made available a new video (below), issued a Press Release admitting that hacking PSN isn't a good idea, but posted what appears to be a list of demands, to quote:
"1. Sony must allow for end-user modification of the PS3, as was available prior to the 3.21 firmware update.
2. Sony must end any attempts to bring legal action to alter a product they own.
3. Sony must not pursue legal action against any collected IP address."
Finally, to quote from KickArss.com on the PSN issue fix: "Here is an alternative: Go to Network Settings - Internet Connection Settings - Custom - Select your connection method - Manual Settings - Scroll through until you get to DNS Settings - Select Manual - Enter 126.96.36.199 for Primary and 188.8.131.52 for Secondary.
Now we should let you know beforehand that this is not a proven method and what is doing is redirecting the DNS (Domain Name Service) from the original PSN servers to google's DNS servers. 184.108.40.206 and 220.127.116.11 are the ip addresses for the official Google DNS. A DNS converts ip addresses into readable website names and assists in related network traffic. According to reports of a good number of users, the fix seems to work for some but not for others."

I LOLed at your comment. You are a little too late, as anonymous vowed not to continue the PSN attacks because they realized it was unfair to legit consumers. They apologized and no more of that, instead they are attacking other Sony sites. And yes, I think they are smart, because finally after everyone was complaining about wanting to do something, these guys got the balls to do so, and allow open contribution.
Do a little research concerning anonymous, and learn that they've also fought for egyptian and libyan freedoms to name a few, and transparency in the berlusconi situation. Anonymous is not starting more BS, they are fighting back against the perpetrators, Sony. And they want to use V for their symbol?
Simply because the protesting crowd at the Westboro Baptist Church adopted the use of Guy Fawkes masks that makes them instantly relate to the Vendetta movie/book? Do some reading regarding Guy Fawkes before commenting on that also. Yes, Vendetta used the masks, for a specific reason regarding the history of the man.
And LOL. Anonymous is still anonymous even during the interview. Grab a dictionary and look up the word. They stated their intentions, not names, addresses, etc...
..pretty much. Here's what my attempt looked like..
"Ok, look.. Sony, just a friendly reminder. I've filed a formal complaint re. rapidly changing user-agreements that are retroactively taken to be legally operative. It's in both our interests if we sort this out - I don't want a bad product, and you want to sell the product on it's strengths. I simply contact Sony out of courtesy, and because I want to see a quick resolution to an issue that might end up being expensive for Sony, as well as inconvenience buyers (not to mention draw resources from other projects). Obviously a "defeat" is also counter-productive, since I in that case will not have my sweet Playstation fix", etc, etc.
The answer from Sony in England read something like this: "Bllltp!! Also, FART!!!
So no.. don't feel that compelled to speak up for Sony in this case (or their customers, who didn't care about the changing user-agreements - and who only complain when something they care about disappears). Funny how that works.
oh they are so anonymous that they are having interview telling around oh we are anonymous oh we are gonna do this do that blah blah. yah so much for anonymous ,and since everyone already said how this smartasses are affecting other people (who never did it to them) by obviously being smartasses they need to at least think or i hope they did think about how their bs is gonna make everything worst and they want to use V for their symbol or whatever.
in the movie i didn't see him go around and tell others and have interview oh i'm gonna kill that person oh im gonna do this blah blah. i'm just so sick of seeing bs on every single news post that oh sony got boned, sony screwed geohot blah blah now bunch of so called anonymous starting more bs.
They do have a just cause, i mean how many of us wanted to do something to Sony? They are actually the ones who want to do something. Just that the methods they are using are also attacking the consumer unintentionally. They want to defend the defendless from the power of the major companies. All they need is to revise their tactics.
