PS3Yes JailBreak Clone PS3 Firmware 3.55 Spoofing Arrives

174w ago - Update: PS3Break has also updated their hex codes to support PS3 Firmware 3.55 Spoofing.

To quote: It is the same as the 3.50 spoof payload, tricking your console into thinking its on the latest firmware. This does not allow you to go online, or play newer games. The purpose of the spoof is to prevent your console from telling you to update, that's all.

This update only stops you from updating to v3.55. Unfortunately PSN and v3.50 firmware based games are still unavailable.

Which means and I must stated in BOLD:

  • NO ONLINE PSN GAME PLAYING
  • NO GT5 (original or backup)
  • NO N4S:HP (same as above)
  • NO UNLOCKing YOUR PSN CONTENT

It appears the PS3Yes Team have worked out a way to properly spoof the PS3's 3.55 Firmware requirement and have released some hex codes for their PS JailBreak clone USB devices below.

Download: PS3Yes Pro Port1 Hermes Spoof 3.55 Hex Code / PS3Yes Hermes v4b Spoof 3.55 Hex Code / All Boards PL3/Hermes 4B With 3.55 Spoof Hex Codes by Cyberskunk.

Is this only to prevent updates? If so, who cares? But what else can it do? PSN? GT5? Could this lead to more interesting things?!

OR is this just a simple mod of Hermes spoofing of 3.50 - Looks like it

To quote from the PS3Yes Team:

Hi,

We just release SPOOF355 for PS3YES-PRO and PS3YES to prevent update.

This firmware prevent the console update to fw3.55.

Best regards

GT5 & NFS:HP are unplayable in firmware < 3.50 pirated or otherwise, get over it.

So will all/most new games because they are encrypted with a new key which isn't in the 3.41 or lower firmwares at all in any way, shape or form.

There's also no way of generating the key from the game with out decrypted dumps of 3.50 and above

Compiled through 3.30 SDK - Encrypted through 3.50.

They delayed it at the first place. It was only to encrypt it with 3.50 keys.

Maybe they forgot to edit the cover

I have a GT5 NTSC US and on the back of the case it says "PS3 firmware v3.30 or higher" so if it was built using the 3.50 sdk then why does it say that?

So basically, the spoof is for us, user, not for the ps3 system.

Like that 3.50 spoof that i used for my slim 3.15, it can't even trick the homebrew backup manager app.

As I said before, the compiled/encrypted 3.50 files aren't playable on 3.41. Not even with a spoof. No!

2 methods:

1. Buy the games and update your PS3.
2. Wait (or not) till the master key is leaked, decrypt the files and see what you need from 3.50. Maybe adding something in 3.41 (some 3.50 files) or other edits. then you MIGHT be able to play it on a modified 3.41
