Why replace rather than add and we chose the 24?
Because it is not known if they add, and we chose the 24 because the license is included in the PS3 is outdated and therefore no longer valid.

Yes I agree, why I haven't done that myself either.
As this method requires more stuff that would give Sony "justification" due to what is done with the SSL certificates, but no one knows for sure yet.
