The Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception PS3 EBOOT Fix for 3.55 (Uncharted.3.CFW3.55.fix.PS3-iND) and 3.41 CFW has been confirmed working with the Uncharted.3.PS3-DUPLEX (BCES01175) scene release with instructions below, as follows:

(1) Install Uncharted 3 onto the PS3
(2) delete camera.txt from dev_hdd0/GAMES/BCES01175/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/build/main/movies1/
(3) Replace the EBOOT.BIN in dev_hdd0/GAMES/BCES01175/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/ with the one included in the RAR
(4) Launch Game
(5) PROFIT

Note: Going to drake's journal freezes game. Update 1.01 (which was also followed by 1.02 Update) fixes this bug, but is encrypted. Do not update the game, it will become unplayable on 3.55. More Uncharted.3.CFW3.55.fix.PS3-iND mirrors below:

Using the save file (linked above) from the original game, right after the corrupted cutscene, you can go through chapter 9 and continue the game. What you actually miss in the game is this cut-scene here, at 6:35:





Below is a Chapter 9 and Chapter 11 savegame past the freeze points which resolves them, but not the Drake's journal issue.

Instructions: Well guys, I as I have both consoles and I have the original game, savedata you step right after the game freezes, serves to keep playing after the break of chapter 9.

Tutorial to put the savedata:

1. We downloaded the savedata: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=661J5ITK
2. Decompression and we put it to a flash drive or USB, can also be done with ftp
3. Open Multimedia and press select + start
4. In the filemanager now we will see two columns. on the left we went to
dev_hdd0/home/000001/SAVEDATA/BCES01175_NDI_UNCHARTED3_BT_5
5. In the right column we dev_usb00/PS3/SAVEDATA/BCES01175_NDI_UNCHARTED3_BT_5
6. Copy all files except PARAM.SFO
7. Multimedia close and start the game.

Note: Point 4 where it says 000001, refers to the user's default ps3, if you are using another user or you have created and you do not know but it is, enter and search the folder all BCES01175_NDI_UNCHARTED3_BT_5

The USB00 also may vary depending on where you shall have put your usb, USB00 or usb01 can be. After making the whole process, save the game for the ps3 modify param.sfo, having done that you never give an error. Attention: game freeze again at chapter 11.

Essentially what the PKG file does is copy the modified files (PS3 PARAM.SFO, EBOOT.BIN, etc) to their correct locations saving end-users from having to transfer them manually via FTP.





Simple steps: unrar, overwrite game files with files from this fix, FTP to internal HDD. Fully tested. Journal works, chapters 9, 11 work. No more long loadings and other bugs.

FAQ:

What's different from other fixes?

For starters this fix is super easy to apply, simply overwrite the files included in this torrent and that's it. No need for any .exe files to unpack any psarc files etc. All subtitles will work perfectly.

But the real difference is performance you'll get. Because all psarc files remain in their original psarc format, there won't be 7000+ extra files, meaning faster loading times, less HDD fragmentation, faster FTP speed, smaller game size (unpacked psarc increases game size).

Do I need this fix if I already have one of other fixes?

That depends, if you are happy with how the game is performing with other fixes you don't need this. But if you have any of the following issues in game this fix is for you:

• Long loading times,
  
• Long texture loading times,
  
• Missing textures,
  
• Missing characters,
  
• Lagging cutscenes,
  
• Weird random loading screen in the middle of level,
  
• And other weird issues.
  

Why does this fix solve above issues?

Game was programmed and optimized to use .psarc packages, so unpacking them into thousands of files is introducing additional strain on HDD to the point where HDD simply can't keep up and content doesn't get loaded in time. With this fix all content will remain in .psarc format, nothing will be extracted.

What game version is required for this fix?

You need untouched game version, eg Uncharted.3.PS3-DUPLEX. If you removed 3D movies or additional languages that's fine, as long as main .psarc files aren't deleted/extracted.

How did you make this fix?

I used combination of previous fixes (thanks Nobody) and newer psarc.exe to unpack actor33.psarc, add fixed journal and then put it back to .psarc package.

No, one file is 4GB+

Uncharted 3 Easy Fix and Ripkit

How to install:

1. Extract Uncharted.3.PS3-DUPLEX
2. Extract uncharted3.easy.fix.and.ripkit.rar to the same folder you extracted Uncharted.3.PS3-DUPLEX.
3. Run patch.x32.bat or patch.x64.bat depending on Windows version.
4. Run rip.3d.movies.bat if you want to delete 3d movies.
5. Run rip.to.eng.only.bat if you want to delete all translated dialogues.
6. Transfer to PS3.
7. Enjoy.

From atmosfear, to quote: I've created a new fix for Uncharted 3, which does not require unpacking your psarc files and fixes the journal and cutscene hang issues. This is based on the other full fix floating around, but only patches really required files. Also the fix will work on both Windows and Unix. I’ve done some testing on Windows 7 x64 and Mac OS X Lion.

This is a proper fix to allow playing of Uncharted 3 [BCES01175] on CFW 3.55 (3.41 untested). This fixed the crash when entering the journal and hangups in level 9 and 11. To apply the fix, simply drop your BCES01175 folder (or whatever your Uncharted 3 folder is named) onto the uc3_fix_windows.bat script, which should open a console window to show progress.

Linux/Mac OS X/other unix users, please use uc3_fix_unix.command script instead and give the path to BCES01175 folder as the first
argument. Also be sure to have xdelta3 installed first. If you like the game, please support the developers and buy it!

You don't need to rejoin your pak23.psarc, if it is split, ’cause the patch doesn’t touch it. Please provide some feedback, if the patch works for you.

NOTE: The windows fix has problems, if the game folder contains spaces or special characters, so if you folder is e.g. named “_BCES01175-[Uncharted 3 - Drake's Deception]” rename it to “_BCES01175″ before running the script. Alternatively copy the fix into the game directory, open a command prompt, cd into the directory and run “uc3_fix_windows .” (without the quotes)

Update: Uploaded the REPACK of the fix, this should fix freezing issues in chapter 5. To apply it, no longer drop your game folder onto the script, but instead extract it to your BCES01175 and run the fix (uc3_fix_windows or uc3_fix_unix). If your previously applied the fix, your .psarc files have already been modified, so the fix asks if this is the case and takes proper action.

Please tell if if you still have any issues with the fix and be sure to re-download if it doesn't say repack when you start the script.

Finally, from Mathieulh: Well it's not hard to use geohot's makeself when you're given a fself. That's pretty much the only part of his work (typing "make_self_npdrm EBOOT.elf EBOOT.BIN"), it wasn't my Eboot by the way, which is why I don't care so much about this.

From Belmondo: Stop reading stuff into it, moogie is just an idiot, now I will have to play this game with a nate's journel bug and no videos.. why would somebody release this without nat's journal fix he says on his twitter "this would have been released in a couple of days" ? clearly moogie was just a tester and it would have been released in a couple of days after the bugs had been worked out.. a real shame that now it won't be fixed correctly.. you can all thank moogie for that
