Rebug Update Package v0.1 (4.30.x) for Custom Firmware on PSN Out

80w ago - Following up on their Rebug 4.30.2 REX Edition / Toolbox 02.01.02 and the XMB Mod v02.01.00 Ice Edition, today Sony PlayStation 3 hackers Cyberskunk and evilsperm of Team Rebug have released Rebug Update Package v0.1 (4.30.x and 4.21.x) which allows Custom Firmware (CFW) users to connect to PSN.

To quote: Rebug Update Package 0.1 (4.30.x and 4.21.x)

THIS ALLOWS PSN ACCESS - USE AT YOUR OWN RISK - FOR REBUG 4.30.x / 4.21.x ONLY - FOR REBUG 4.30.x / 4.21.x ONLY - YOU MUST BE IN REBUG MODE TO ACCESS PSN

This will update REBUG's version spoof files to 4.40 to and allow connection to PSN.

UPDATER WILL PERFORM THE FOLLOWING TASKS

Update the current version spoof files to 4.40 with PSN access

INSTALL

1: Install Rebug_Update_Package.pkg file from XMB
2: Run Rebug Update Package from the [Games] menu
3: Follow the on screen prompts
4: PS3 will reboot if needed when finished

Note: Once the PS3 has rebooted you can delete Rebug Update Package from your XMB as it is not needed.

Note: Please do not email us about game compatibility. Some may just require a simple PARAM.SFO edit to get past the latest game update, others may not work at all because the game NEEDS the newer files.

yeah i was using a wireless one when i had changed over to the 4.53 steven one temporarily, till i went back to rebug 4.46 rex lol... the reason why it works though is because the usb port is actively connected to the controller, however the ps3 official one doesn't use the USB route when activated wirelessly (uses bluetooth iirc)

Funny its been released 363 days since the last update, but NO mentions on the homepage and no one from the team has commented yet either. just saying

yes the controller de-sync bug is still present in this f/w..on the subject of that bug i have found that if you have one of the cheap ps3 controllers that has it's own usb dongle used to connect it to the system the bug seems to disappear though it is a pain in the butt having one of my usb ports occupied by a controller dongle.

i am curious if anyone knows why there isn't a sync issue with the cheap controller but there is one with the official controller

very interesting, yeah like drphuz said, best to wait for rebug themselves to comment... though i am interested to know if the ps2 controller desynch bug is still present or not.

Unfortunately... At rebug forum administrator for 4.53.1 rebug with cobra is not official.. According to Garyopa said: NO Link found at Rebug BECAUSE it is NOT Official at all!

There you go. Its not official!
