111w ago - Following up on the recent Guide to Compile PSN NPDRM Games for PS3 Custom Firmware, today Gitbrew has released NoPDRM v1, which allows users to easily re-enable Sony PlayStation Network (PSN) content on their PlayStation 3 consoles alongside some RSX progress detailed below.
To quote: With the release of mallory's NPDRM-enabled ps3tools, it was remarkably simple to re-enable your legally purchased PSN titles.
Overview of steps: unself2 -> make_self_npdrm -> pkg.py
Tools you need:
ps3tools modified for NPDRM use (included)
make_self_npdrm from geohot's tools (included in psl1ght)
pkg.py (included in psl1ght)
To use the NPDRM ps3tools you need:
Your console's IDPS
Your console's exdata folder (/dev_hdd0/home/xxxxxxxx/exdata/)
Your PSN titles (/dev_hdd0/game/NP*)
The get_idps.pkg file can be installed on your PS3. When run, it creates a file called 'idps' on the root of an attached USB drive. Copy this idps file to your PS3KEYS folder. Make sure that your PS3KEYS folder has the appldr NPDRM keys. One pair was included in mallory's ps3tools release and more can be found at Keys Appldr. FTP your PS3's exdata folder to your PS3KEYS folder (e.g. ~/.ps3/exdata).
Now the NPDRM modified ps3tools have all the keys they need to decrypt PSN games.
Copy a PSN title to your computer. Run nopdrm.py with the PSN game's folder and the output package names as arguments.
Example: nopdrm.py NPUB90126 mgsdb.pkg
The resulting package can be installed on your PS3 and will play without any PSN licensing restrictions.
NOTE: PSN titles that use encrypted data files (*.EDAT) will likely not work. nopdrm.py outputs a warning if it detects a EDAT file in the PSN title. Work on decrypting EDAT files is underway.
NOTE: All pkgs were tested with OtherOS++ MFW. Results are not guaranteed on other firmwares.
Please report any bugs to #otheros on gitbrew's IRC.
Progess on the RSX
We have made some amazing breakthroughs and has completely skipped over the Lv1. Glevand has managed to run direct commands to the FIFO without lv1 calls. As well as running multiple pipelines from the gpu. This is amazing progress towards making a fully functional rsx driver. ps3fb source will be available shortly for compiling.

I installed the PKG's and RAPs. I got my online account working and fixed my console to get online. I loaded up GT5 and went to the DLC menu and it says there is nothing to get. I'm guessing I did something wrong but not sure what it is?
Do I have to install the RAPs to the same account as the online account? ATM they are different accounts.
I thought as long as 1 account on the console was licensed to use the software then any account can use it. Looks like thats not the fact with GT5.
Regarding Final Fantasy XIII Lightning Returns, anyone have successful experience using the fixed DLC from JPN version (BLJM60558) couple page back on a asian (chinese) version (BCAS20279)?
Without the dlc the game retail fix work fine, but I tried to copy the dlc in couple location (BCAS20279 place after data install, or another BLJM6055800000000something place) and it hang the game right at the beginning (white square page) or hang when loading the game. If any of you can load the jpn dlc to chinese version please let me know! Thanks!
I would post a pic but I think posting screenshots a week before release isn't a wise thing to do.
Still in car view is just black. Shows you how pathetic the game really is. GRID is heaps better as its got all the views working proper like they should where GT6 is missing half the graphics of the cars and doubles up for a lot of them too. Its really crap if you compare car games to each other. Thats why its not on PS4 as nobody would accept that as a PS4 game. Its not even a proper PS3 game as I just said its missing half the graphics of the cars.
