29w ago - Following up on their previous update, PlayStation 3 developers Estwald and D_Skywalk have updated the PS3 backup game manager known as Iris Manager to version 2.42 with the changes detailed below.
IrisManager is a port of HermesManager based on PSLIGHT, Tiny3D, PS3Soundlib and OpenPS3FTP, is a completely legal open code manager made with PlayStation 3 homebrew tools.
Supports PS3 Custom Firmwares: 3.41 (Hermes), 3.55 (Kmeaw), 4.21 & 4.30 CEX (with LV1 access, like Rogero or Rebug), 4.31 CFW, 4.21 DEX, 4.40 CEX MLT and 4.41CFW.
Iris Manager v2.42 Changelog, roughly translated: Version 2.42
What's New in version 2.42:
Fixed crash when detecting between CFW 4.40 and CFW 4.41.

I wouldn't call it junk as I'm sure the patch tools have a purpose, but seeing how the devs are Spanish and there are no clear instructions in English it's hard to know what they are used for. What I do know is that the irismanager-4-x folder contains language files for Iris Manager (if you do not prefer the default English).
Install either the irismanager-4-x.pkg or irismanager-4-x_animated.pkg. The only difference between those two is that the animated version has an animated icon on the XMB. The homelaunc1.pkg is basically an add-on that works with IrisManager to load Homebrew/PSN (no emulated) software on your PS3 (you don't have to install it if you don't need it).
