35w ago - Following up on their previous updates, PlayStation 3 developers Estwald and D_Skywalk (with help from Miralatijera) have updated the PS3 backup game manager known as Iris Manager to version 2.25 which now includes a File Manager with the changes detailed below.
Iris Manager v2.25 Changelog, roughly translated: New: in version 2.25
Added support for installation. PKG over 4GB and from HDD0 (in / dev_hdd0/IMANAGER4/PKG).
Added "File Manager / File Manager" (under "Tools / Tools"), with ability to create folders, delete, copy, move from file / folder or by group selection.
Example: copying to a USB device in the x: \ iris \ PKG PKG the fragmented (.666 xx files generated by split4G.exe, for example).
From Iris Manager, go to "Tools" use "Copy from / dev_usb / folder iris Iris" and "Install. PKG" unplugging USB storage devices, to show the / the. PKG / dev_hdd0/IMANAGER4 / PKG. Normally install.
It also has the ability to:
mount / unmount "/ dev_rewrite" (device / dev_flash with writing),
make dumps of LV1 (CFW that support only LV1 peek / poke) and LV2,
Hold Start for one second to access help and know the function of the various buttons
More details: Upon entering, we find the split screens or windows identical sections, A and B. Both are shown at the top, all devices in the system and to change section we use L1/R1.
With L3/R3, we can rotate quickly to current section list, devices, Iris Manager directory or the current directory of the other section. At the top of the window shows the full path at all times and free space on the drive, so you do not lose the orientation
Of course, clicking on folders or devices we listed the following directories / files, provided in alphabetical order and by some new routines that allow us to quickly handle the character set UTF-8 Japanese font and used it for titles.
The sense of having two windows, is obvious: it is easily to provide a source and a destination to copy / move things. The origin is always the currently selected window, obviously.
The root folder, which displays all devices, is special: there no control of our actions and only allows us to select the device with EQUIS, to work from there
The Circle button is used to select / deselect files or folders groups one by one, while the square select / deselect groups all files / folders in the directory. Some actions like copying files or Movement respond to this selection in a group or if there is none, to the folder or file pointed to by the cursor (always overrides group selection, even if only a selected file)
EQUIS button serves to list the / device or perform actions on selected files, then describe.
With the SELECT (eye, go into any device before, it does not work on the screen devices) to the menu of options. Remember to always refer as the source currently selected window (the one with the letter blinking) and target the other.
New Folder: Create new folders
Rename: To rename files / folders
Copy: Copy files / folders. This action is considered 666 xx fragmented files to unite or if the device is not the hard drive, the files fragment xx large as 666. It makes checking available space before copying (copying routine is different to that used in other tasks so far, by the way) and error checking.
Move: This option behaves differently if it is to the same device (in which case moving files / folders directly and quickly) or if they are different devices (in which case it behaves first copied to the destination and then if no errors, deleting content source)
Delete: Delete files / folders. If you do not know what you do, the option of upsets XD
Mount / Unmount dev_rewrite and / dev_rewrite: Mount the device / dev_flash writable (and can cepillaros / dev_flash comfortable XD)
Dump LV2: Dumpea in the current folder the Game OS (with its descriptive name, date, etc.)
LV1 Dump: Dumpea LV1 in the current folder. This option only works for CFW> = 4.21 LV1 functions using PEEK and POKE. At 3.41 and 3.55 is more cumbersome and simply do not feel like it has something to do for a small utility ...
Exit: exit option. Also it comes with SELECT and TRIANGLE
Well, these are the choices overall. A particular level depends on the type of file.
About. SELF: the run
About. PKG: Install PKG. Now let PKG above 4GB
On another file: Hexadecimal Editor
Files. SELF and. PKG can be curioseados with the hex editor, using a trick: before pressing CIRCLE to activate group selection.
Hexadecimal Editor (Is what is holding me by the way )
Modify files: The editor is simple, always amending current presentation, running some action to change it, we are asked to save the changes. This action depending on the context, means the loss if the changes are not saved or prevents new action that would cause such changes. We recommend, strongly, to proceed first to create a backup of the file to modify, for obvious reasons.
To modify the files, we have a series of buttons:
L1/R1 Decrease / increase in current selected one byte. It has ability to auto repeat
Decreases EQUIS nibble (half byte) currently selected
Increases CIRCLE nibble (half byte) currently selected
SQUARE: Restores the original value of the currently selected byte
START: Restores the original value of all bytes of the window
To move, we have the following buttons:
LEFT / RIGHT / UP / DOWN to move the cursor over the window. Exceeding the limit address above or below 16 moves in 16 bytes. If the window is changed and the changes are not saved in the option that appears not scrolls. It has auto repeat.
L2/R2 to quickly scroll through the file. It has auto repeat and speed is increased exponentially, to keep the buttons pressed.
Absolute jump to the address described in the next section.
Press SELECT to the menu of options. Here it should be noted that if changes are not saved are lost immediately.
Go to Address: Option absolute jump: it shows a window with a keyboard where enter hexadecimal addresses easily. With LEFT / RIGHT / UP / DOWN we move through the keyboard, with EQUIS enter number with SQUARE remove the digit from the end, with L2/R2 we can move into the number and accept the jump with circle. With SELECT close the window.
Find Hex: Search hexadecimal values (down). We can look for from 1 to 8 bytes. By default, it shows 4, but with L1/R1 can reduce or increase the number of bytes to seek. With LEFT / RIGHT / UP / DOWN we move through the keyboard, with EQUIS enter number with L2/R2 we can move into the number and accept the quest CIRCLE. With SELECT close the window. Press L3/R3 can repeat the search backwards and forwards, in hexadecimal editor
String Find Search strings (down). Press L3/R3 can repeat the search backwards and forwards, in hexadecimal editor (note: this option is not yet implemented)
I think with these options is enough for a hex editor "campaign" with which to make small arrangements from within the PS3
Apart from this, now you create a folder inside the folder PKG Iris Manager: from there you can install PKG with the option to "Install. PKG" if we copy one (without being inside another folder, eye) and we have no USB device connected (if we have one, normal thing if we just copy from there, unplugged)
The idea is this: the "Copy from / dev_usb / iris lets you create a folder on the USB device called iris / PKG and fragmented files and supports 666 xx, it can upload files larger than 4GB to be composed as one in HDD0. then when unplugging USB devices, the PKG is visible only have to be moved to where it finally settles in an instant.
In order to see what you think the new options and if anyone can make a summary pitinglish, to go forward job, I appreciate everyone.
PS: As you can see, the options are in English and will not be translated: English is a very basic and many of the options, may have no use for an ordinary user.

Following up on the previous update, today PlayStation 3 developer aldostools updated the PS3 backup game manager known as Iris Manager to version 2.60B-1 followed by some unofficial updates with the changes outlined below.
To quote: well, as everyone is creating his own fork... I decided to make my own fork.
It is not intended to be a competition entry nor a replacement of any manager. I made this fork just for FUN (and for educational purposes)... Do not expect any new fancy feature... it is basically the same 2.60B (with all the Cobra stuff added by Estwald) with IMHO a better button layout and a couple of cosmetic changes. For respect to the original dev, I didn't use a different name and just added the term "(mod)".
Holding L2 or R2 when the program starts you can go directly to File Manager. Some of the changes are:
Select + Start access the File Manager (like multiMAN)
L1 / L2 in File Manager scroll by page
Left Dir / Right Dir changes to focus to left/right (top/down) panel (formerly L1/R1)
Select + O prompt if you want to exit to XMB from File Manager
O on the Game List asks if you want to exit to XMB
Triangle is menu (like in XMB)
Select + O on the Game List asks if you want to reboot the PS3
Triangle is menu (like in XMB)
O is cancel (like in XMB)
L2 + Start switches between coverflow/game list
I was going to keep it for personal use, but I think someone could find it useful and use the changes that I made to improve the Manager.
Update: Ok, I changed the ID to IRISMAN00.... For the moment I "changed" the name to "Iris MANager (mod)". Obviously the "MAN" in uppercase is a direct allusion to multiMAN (most of the changes were made to resemble it). If someone can suggest a better name... I can change it....
PS. the version with the new name has now 3 GUI modes: grid 6x4 from PS3ITA, the original grid 4x3 and the recent coverflow.
PS2. Although the file name still says "IMANAGER4", the content ID is "UP0001-IRISMAN00_00-VER260BMOD000003"
Holding L2 or R2 when the program starts you can go directly to File Manager. Some of the changes are:
Buttons / Function
Start + Select: Access the File Manager (like multiMAN)
L1 L2: In File Manager scroll by page
Left / Right: Changes to focus to left/right (top/down) panel (formerly L1/R1)
Select + O: Prompt if you want to exit to XMB from File Manager
O: On the Game List asks if you want to exit to XMB
Triangle: On the Game List asks if you want to exit to XMB is menu (like in XMB)
Select + O: On the Game List asks if you want to reboot the PS3
Triangle: Is menu (like in XMB)
O: Is cancel (like in XMB)
L2 + Start: Switches between coverflow/game list
Added option to disable the integrated fan control utility (it does not try to load the payload)
This is an unofficial version of Iris Manager 2.60B. This version includes all the nice Cobra features added by Estwald. The changes that I made are mainly related to the user interface (buttons layout are more XMB-like, quick access to File Manager, progress bar when game list is scanned, colors, 3 gui modes, etc.).
It also includes the Payloads for 4.41DEX/4.46DEX/4.50DEX and the grid 6x4 from Rancid-O's PS3ITA Manager. The most notable feature is that unlike the official version, it scans GAMES/GAMEZ/GAMES_DUP/GAMES_BAD on the external drives.
Now scans for PS3 games in the following folders: /GAMEZ, /GAMES, /GAMES_DUP, /GAMES_BAD (external drive)
The Yes/No dialogs can be cancelled with CIRCLE
Added payloads for 4.41DEX, 4.46DEX, 4.50DEX from PS3ITA (all the credits to Rancid-o / Zz_SACRO_zZ)
In File Manager, the O now acts like multiMAN's mmOS (show file menu) (exit to Game List with Select + Start -> same as multiMAN)
Now there is a progress bar when games are being scanned
Quicker access to the File Manager with L2 or R2 when the program starts (now it does not scan the game list)
Exit from File Manager does not scan the game list unless there was a copy/delete/move activity (use R3 if you need to refresh the list)
Now it also has mode 6x4 from PS3ITA for a total of 3 modes (coverflow, 6x4, 4x3). (I had many freeze issues with the mode 8x6, so I didn't add it)
Changed the Tilte ID to "IRISMAN00" to avoid conflict with Iris (official version).
Auto preview images in FM (.png, .jpg)
Support to .ISO.0 (uppercase) in FM
Custom ftp commands (SITE SHUTDOWN, SITE REBOOT)
Added auto-launch of PSX ISO if found in /USRDIR/ps1_iso/ (now you can create your own bootable PSX isos on non-cobra CFW or replace the self+eboot in PS1toPS3's USRDIR folder to run it on CFW 4.46-4.50).
Fixed bug: ISOs were listed 4 times
Improved mount last game (holding L1 when the program starts)
Improved PSX ISO split list: now can be cancelled, use UP/DOWN to select
File Manager is more responsive, EBOOT and ISOs are listed in green
Fixed freeze accessing Game Option from grid 4x6.
Added GUI mode 8x6 from PS3ITA (now there are 4 GUI modes)
Added memory card configuration launching IRISMAN and holding L1/R1 when a PSX ISO exists in USRDIR/ps1_iso/
More bug fixes.
Fixed a bug that caused an exit to XMB while changing the settings in the GUI modes 6x4 and 8x6.
Added a progress bar to Fix File Permissions.
Following up on the previous update, today PlayStation 3 developers Estwald and D_Skywalk have updated the PS3 backup game manager known as Iris Manager to version 2.60 followed by a v2.60B bug fix with the changes outlined below.
To quote, roughly translated: What's New in version 2.60:

Improved the preview icon in Archive Manager (pre-displayed icon in / dev_hdd0/games without going into the folder)
Added Quick press START + L2 to enter the Archive Manager, you will now have a more frequent use. If parental control is enabled, only allows non-hazardous use Archive Manager (ISOS mount Cobra mode and so on)
What's New in version 2.60b:
Fixed issue where not submitted all ISOS, not show the internal icon that hung to list many games from NTFS (stupid fclose () forgotten, argh! )

To quote: Simplicity v2.58 - A Simple Kind of Loader - Brought to you by StephenCapes
Simplicity is a modified version of the well known backup loaded “Iris Manager”. The source version I started with is v2.58 by Estwald. Changes from Iris Manager:
Background colors have been removed, leaving a simple black.
Music has been completely removed.
Date, Time, Temp, and Device Space has also been removed.
In cover flow mode game sorting by console has been removed.
FTP Icon’s color has been changed
Other minor GUI changes were made.
Navigation controls have been altered (“X” is accept, “O” is back, “Triangle” is game settings, “Square” is not used, “Select” is global settings “, “Start” is not used)
The rest stayed the same.
Changes for Simplicity v2.58.1:
added back the USB overlay
Other changes will be coming... Thanks you for your support!!
Changes for Simplicity v2.58.3:

removed unnecessary notifications
removed the "Favorites" function
changed the font to the default PS3 font
added support for DEX versions 4.41, 4.46, and 4.50
cleaned up some of the coding and changed version to 2.58.3 (2.58.2 was a beta for DEX support)
