194w ago - It appears the PlayStation company is putting its electronics might behind 3D television technology, with the company expected to start selling fancy three-dimensional displays next year--with 3D PlayStation 3 games being readied to capitalize on the technology.
To quote: According to the
Financial Times, Sony boss man
Sir Howard Stringer will be announcing the company's plans to invest in 3D LCD TVs at the IFA show in Berlin.
And he'll also be announcing Sony laptop computers, PlayStation 3 games and Blu-ray players that will be compatible with the technology.
With the PS3 already capable of playing 4D games, according to former PlayStation exec
Ken Kutaragi, one has to wonder "Why the step back?"
i hope the 3d games work on laser-tv's too.

This company is something I've been looking at for a while, Sony should defiantly take a look and see what they can do. Apparently glasses-less 3D that looks great: http://holografika.com/
Ive already seen some amazing stuff being developed as we speak.
combined with some sort of 3d glasses or projection stuff.
another topic that may not be such a good example is the ps3 hacking matter that is out for years. these 3 years most people said that it won't be hacked bcs of many reasons but look now the ps3 devs have the "tool" in their hands which means that the first hacked ps3 is a matter of time.
so why 3d will fail? many people watch 3d movies why not a play a 3d game?
ps: don't forget almost all new titles are 3d why not take advantage of that?
ps2: n-vidia already did this on pc's.
That are just personal assumptions and wont be something you could know..because it hasnt happen till now.
New technologies or ways that improve something allways have to prove themself and after that one could say...mission failed.
Dont know if SONY ever said they wouldnt support that..because the normal way it goes with SONY they dont say anything till its happen.
PSN Store gets the game : Han Tao: Invincibel Fighter
that game allready utilizes 3D... but only to give it more in depth and a good example of what could happen.
Avatar is also said to be playable in 3D (comes from Cameron itself)
I guess it is the same procedure with all "oh no, wont happen..wont be fun" guys like always....."WII Controler ? ohmfg looks crappy, wont play it..dont need it" after some time everyone seemz to play it and now other consoles get motioncontrolers too.
So why dont give 3D a chance......yeah it will be costy at first...but the ps3 was costy too, a full 1080p HDTV was unaffordable some time back etc etc..
so i say 3d will be the next step to improve gamingexperiences
