Shuhei Yoshida revealed that PS3 Devs will help build Sony's PlayStation 4 console, and today in an interview with
Develop-Online.net he expanded stating that the PS4 is likely to arrive after the next-generation XBox and Nintendo consoles.
From the interview, to quote: "Looking from the outside, it was Microsoft that released the first of this generation of consoles. Naturally, in my opinion, Microsoft will make the first move.
Or, because Nintendo's approach was not to upgrade much on its basic hardware - Wii doesn't even support HD resolution - so they might be the first to move.
Probably the watch should be on these companies, in my opinion. Because PS3 was later than Xbox, and is more powerful, so it has a longer lifespan."
I think as much as the involment of devs is a good idea, I really can see some type of info or tech getting leak to others :S
Ah well we shall see.
However, including the Devs into the next gen console will allow them to have an understanding of the procedure involved in creating content, which will then allow them to strategize for the release of said content.
This could greatly influence the future consecutive console war that will erupt, and might even favor a much more understood and developed, powerful platform if the PS3 is any indicator.
