Update: To add more fuel to the fire,
ScrawlFX.com has now uncovered a
listing for Splinter Cell: Conviction in the Ubisoft Support center.
Since last year Ubisoft has been
stating that they have no plans for a PS3 version of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction, but now contradictory images are turning up in a Blockbuster Video ad and from Swedish retailer Game giving fans hope the XBox 360 exclusive is no more.
To quote: "Look at the scan below, although could be a typo, it shows a number of games and movies with the dates and times they'll be available, but what caught my attention was the Splinter Cell: Conviction listing that also lists PS3 as one of the platforms.
It's also listed as available on February 23rd, the date it was supposed to be released before Ubisoft abruptly postponed it to a later date. Does Blockbuster know something we don't?"
Additionally,
Kroogah from
PS3info.pl and
Chrisma from
Polygamia.pl stated the following, to quote roughly translated:
"In the Swedish retail chain Game is officially ordered Splinter Cell Conviction for PS3. Here (below) is the photo shop of the exhibition. Employees reportedly swear that is the official info and take orders."
Finally, the title is currently slated for release in North America on April 13, Europe and Australia on April 15, and Japan on April 28, 2010.
I have now added his name and the link into the first post and main page article HERE.
