Retailers Break Street Date of May 26, Selling inFamous for PS3

I say big fricken deal? Who cares? Next..... not like this is Metal Gear 5, FFXIII or GOW3. Long running games with some meaning / fan base. Good for this guy. I don't feel like I'm missing out on something, lol. Heck, I got one of those recall LBP sitting here unopened. I bought another copy once the new release came out. Yet, never thought a big deal of having one, lol. We can wait the 3 weeks, no worries

well, i have to admit, this all got me pretty excited... not having to wait another 3 weeks! plus the time it gets to my door... count in another week.

anyways, this is something that looks fishy indeed, and it is something serious enough to worry about -- for Sony and its distributors. when a countdown is set a game release, there is usually a lot of work to build up hype on the game with various intensified marketing strategies and about early copies being freely sold, there is no great ps3 games that i have read about or heard of, with some concrete evidence of being in the hands of a casual buyer so early before the release date.

there is always extreme precautions taken, and if this great game (not the best this year, but definitely an 8+/10 rating in my opinion) is being messed with, this early, then it leaves to wonder about future super duper blockbusters, like god of war 3, or the releasing sooner, uncharted 2. maybe people will willfully break in GS or wherever they can get their early dose to satisfy years of waiting! /hint! hehe...

before making hasty comments, you might want to read the source thread on neogaf, which this article directly links to. it wasn't a stolen copy. he acquired it through ebay, sold from a woman who works at SCEA (it was a review copy). as for the timed lockout... i've never come across a console game that didn't let you play it before the release date. the only thing coming close to that would be online (multiplayer) portions of the game that require you to log into the developers/publishers servers.

People like this are lucky, even my friend who works at GS doesnt give me the games early... Bah...

In the past games like MGS4 were sold early. The game has been done for quite some time, fact is most games are finished 3 months or more before their release and everything else goes to marketing production and so on. In fact I almost got my hands on a MGS4 bundle in advance.

But I do have a question, is that time lockout thing something you can prove or just some BS you said so people would think you are smarter? 1: They can't do that because if people without internet couldn't download the patch to play the game and people with it could avoid a patch blocking play by just going offline. 2: If you think that they can block a certain date too you're mistaken. Even if they could there is a easy fix of just changing the date and time.

So we have proven that you can't have a required patch or a date lock out or anything along the lines of that, how would they block it? You know I hate when people are hit in the face with facts that someone did get the game a month early. I know you're jealous of him, but next time think before you post. You post was complete garbage and was only used to try and make your self look smart, calling everyone who wishes they had the game too a "tard".
