160w ago - Today Examiner.com (linked above) reports that Record of Agarest War is hitting PSN this Thursday, however, they note it will require nearly 10GB of PS3 HDD space to install and close to 18GB of hard disk drive space to begin the download.
To quote: "PS3 owners will have the ability to purchase the game via PSN and download it right to their PS3 for safe storage. If you plan to buy it from the PSN Store this week, be prepared for a lengthy download and huge file size.
Record of Agarest War for the PS3 totals at 9228MB, but you'll need close to 18GB of space to begin the download. This download will take gamers a long time to complete - with it ranging based on your own connection speed.
At this moment, the estimated time for the download is a few hours on our connection."
The game itself does NOT require 18 GB - you just need to have free space on the hard drive twice the size of the game to be able to downlaod and install it. It's the same with any other game or demo. It demo lets say is 1.5 GB you'd need to have at least 3 GB of free space to be able to download it.
Ater the game will install you can use remaining 9 GBs for something else. Simple solution - get 500 or at least 320 GB 2.5" (laptop size) hard drive and upgrade drive in your PS3 and you should be fine for a while. If you'll purchase some nice external USB enclosure at the same tiem you can use the original PS3 hard drive as backup for your PS3 or laptop or any other needs
btw: In Europe we got the blu-ray version of this title. As far as I know there is no DLC and even the german version is english-only (apart from manual and box of course). So it would be possible to get a EU version from the UK for example if you really want the game and don't like the idea of giving up 10 Gb of HDD space for it.
