Update: According to
TheSixthAxis.com, SCEE's Community Team Leader
MusterBuster confirmed this is a typo, to quote: "This is a typo - the number of activated consoles is STILL 5. You should receive an updated email within the next few days."
Several months ago Sony sent out a
warning to those involved in PSN game sharing, and recently the European PlayStation Network Terms of Service (linked above) has been updated to reflect this.
Although the
US Terms of Service still state that "You can download the title to up to 5 different PLAYSTATION 3 systems" the EU counterpart now states only three, to quote:
• In-game items or content that you have purchased may be downloaded from PlayStation Store. Pursuant to the particular terms of use that govern a specific in-game item or content you have purchased, you may use that item or content on up to three (3) different PlayStation 3 systems that have been activated for your account. You may deactivate or activate specific PlayStation 3 systems, as long as the maximum activated number of PlayStation 3 systems for your account at any given time is three (3).
• There are two sets of usage schemes for content, corresponding to two categories of in-game items and other content that you purchase.
• The first category, called Network Content, can only be accessed by one activated PlayStation 3 system per day and only by the account through which the Network Content was purchased. Network Content cannot be used on two different PlayStation 3 systems within a twenty-four (24) hour period.
• The second category, called Local Content, once installed on a PlayStation 3 system by the account that purchased it, can be accessed by other accounts on that same PlayStation 3 system.

On the other hand, how many PS3s can a family own, that we'd need to activate!
Although i have to use the NZ one for all my purchases as i need an American Credit Card to buy - as we don't sell PSN Cards here yet.
..but also sometimes its just the last region to make the change. (PsOne Classics, PSN) When its about money, yeah it IS first, but when its giving a better content, oh no, its not..
If you have a little time, please make a USA PSN account, browse the American PSN store for a while, see their nice Top Downloads, Top 10 statistics, see their PsOne Classics, wallpapers, ..etc. believe me you won't want to return back to your TOTALLY joke SCEE PSN..
Sweet dreams SCEE...
