PS3 System Software Update v4.25 Incoming with 1GB Storage

36w ago - Sony Network Entertainment VP Eric Lempel has officially announced today that PS3 System Software Update v4.25 is incoming and includes an increase to 1GB of online cloud storage!

Below are the details, to quote: At this year's Gamescom press conference, we announced that Online Game Save Storage will be upgraded to 1GB for PlayStation Plus members, and I'm happy to report that the increase will be available soon with PS3 system software update (v4.25)!

To sign up for PlayStation Plus, go to PlayStation Store on your PS3, or click here.

After you've installed the update, simply go to the Saved Data Utility under the Game column of the XMB. From there you can access the Online Storage folder and find any existing game saves already uploaded, as well as the increase in space to 1GB.

So set your automatic download to upload every game save for every compatible game you play and enjoy the additional breathing room. You can also continue to use this feature to selectively upload game saves you specify.

Update: Itskamel 355 CEX MFW + PSN (no FckPSN needed) is now linked above, and finally I got it done but not without the help of an anonymous person, that gave me the proper vsh.self, index.dat, and version.txt files. For some reason I just could not get it right, every time I would use mine i would get black screen on boot.

0. install dev_blind and openps3ftp
1. mount dev_blind
2. connect to the ps3 via ftp
3. go to and replace at

dev_blind/vsh/vsh.self
dev_/blind/etc/index.dat
dev_blind/etc/version.txt

4. unmount dev_blind
5. reboot ps3
6. connect to psn!!!

remember if you were using FckPSN before to fix your network connection back to normal or you will get a dns error.

Also you might want to look for the app psid changer to spoof your console id, I have no idea if it works. enjoy.
