PS3 Slim and Original PlayStation 3 Size Comparison

Sponsored Links
293w ago - A few days ago some alleged PS3 Slim images were leaked to the Internet via LevelUp.

Shortly following, IGN stated a GameStop Rep confirmed it.

Anyone who has seen the leaked images of the PS3 Slim has surely wondered how the size compares to the original PS3.

Today a new image has [Register or Login to view links] thanks to NeoGAF member RanoNL. The pic shows an original PS3 standing vertically, and along side it what appears to be a PS3 Slim standing vertically.

While we aren't sure of the validity or the origin of the image, it clearly shows that the PS3 Slim (if that is the same PS3 Slim as the leaked pics) is significantly smaller than the original PS3.

Taking a closer look at the image, it doesn't appear as though it has the PS3 logo on the bottom, so there is a chance this isn't the same PS3 Slim case as the one shown in the leaked pics.

For now, all anyone can do is speculate until Tuesday, June 2 at 11AM when the SCEA E3 Press Conference starts, and the PS3 Slim is finally revealed... or not.

this reminds me of the original Nintendo on a single controller at the mall here in jersey... nowhere does it say that there is nintendo games on it but it has 50 nintendo games built into the controller. we claim that people should raid these companies and shut them down, i applaud these companies for doing what nintendo and other companies are failing to do... Reach another market.

the non gamer someone that just wants a simple device to play amusement games... nintendo should have thought of this YEARS ago! remarket the reguar nintendo and cram all the electronics in that bulky controller and plug into your tv and BOOm all the original nintendo games 19.95...but wait theres more.... all nintendo games up to the nintendo 64 could be packed into a few GB on a single disk for collectors and hobbyists to collect and add to their collection to pull out and play via the wii..

Come on nintendo get your head outa your ass sony too!!! i want to play my psone games on my ps3 fuk*ers. i have to resort to stealing your software because you DONT offer it to the public....

I've actually seen the Funstation units, in a market in Hong Kong, and the pic in the original post is definitely one of them.

The PS3 "Slim" console pics which were leaked last week are distinctly a different shape to the existing PS3, and they were matte plastic rather than a shiny finish, which is exactly how the test moulds used by manufacturers to experiment with the shapes of the consoles turn out, so a little more believable... Although of course, there's nothing to stop the so-called PS3 Slim from being another Chinese rip-off along the lines of the Funstation, too!

Another day another fake console being claimed as Sony's work. I'm surprised people don't make as many Nintendo and Microsoft ripoffs (although the Microsoft thing could be because their systems are not popular overseas)

Thats that Funstation 3 you can see the controller ports in the front of the system and also you can tell that this is somebody kitchen counter they are sitting on. And if a pic did come it would be from the manufacturing factory. We can go ahead and kill this pic as being false.

yep, that's definitely the funstation.. look at the picture, you can see the two weird looking ports under the eject button (or where it's supposed to be), and in the funstation video when he showed the funstation, we can clearly see the exact same ports in the same position...

Can someone update the main article please?
