PS3 Media Server 1.72.0 for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X is Out

88w ago - Following up on their previous update, today PlayStation 3 developers Raptor399 and chocolateboy have announced that PS3 Media Server 1.72.0 is officially released for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X!

PS3 Media Server 1.72.0 Changelog:

Regressions:

  • Fixed bug that occurred when using ShowDVDTitleDuration
  • Fixed bug that caused embedded subtitles to be displayed when subtitles are disabled
  • Fixed bug in handling of filenames with embedded $ characters

Engines:

  • Removed option to automatically switch to tsMuxeR (available manually via the #--TRANSCODE--# folder)

Upgrade Notes:

For 1.70.0 and above:

  • Just uninstall the older version and install the newer one.

For versions prior to 1.70.0:

  • It is recommended to back up and remove your old PMS.conf and re-enter and save your settings (if any) in the GUI. Alternatively (e.g. if you have a large number of customizations you wish to preserve), see the upgrade notes for previous major releases (e.g. 1.50.0, 1.60.0 &c.) for migration instructions.

Hmm, you need a NAS or an Home Server to get it work, right ?

And this app is just do get i.e. Music files from the source to your PS3, I think.

Thats exactly what it is Since Shagrath looked like he had no time for it anymore and he hadn't updated it for a very long time there has been a forked 'community patched' version. This has also been updated to include the new update.

I was wondering how this was better than tversity, then i see tversity in the screen shot
Yea hehe, whenever a screenshot isn't included with submissions I just Google for one and stick it in... in this case I searched for PS3 Media Server and that was one that popped up.
