PS3 Media Server 1.72.0 for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X is Out

96w ago - Following up on their previous update, today PlayStation 3 developers Raptor399 and chocolateboy have announced that PS3 Media Server 1.72.0 is officially released for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X!

PS3 Media Server 1.72.0 Changelog:

Regressions:

  • Fixed bug that occurred when using ShowDVDTitleDuration
  • Fixed bug that caused embedded subtitles to be displayed when subtitles are disabled
  • Fixed bug in handling of filenames with embedded $ characters

Engines:

  • Removed option to automatically switch to tsMuxeR (available manually via the #--TRANSCODE--# folder)

Upgrade Notes:

For 1.70.0 and above:

  • Just uninstall the older version and install the newer one.

For versions prior to 1.70.0:

  • It is recommended to back up and remove your old PMS.conf and re-enter and save your settings (if any) in the GUI. Alternatively (e.g. if you have a large number of customizations you wish to preserve), see the upgrade notes for previous major releases (e.g. 1.50.0, 1.60.0 &c.) for migration instructions.

Thats odd, but with the PS3 media server its the other way, the ps3 media server is the one that searchs for your PS3. Maybe this way you got lucky, which i doubt, but its worth to try.

Still can't find it, but it's okay. Maybe I must open a port or something like that, but it doesn't matter.

huh? start PS3 media server, turn on PS3, go to ps3, view goodies on pc, watch on ps3...

That's the problem, my PS3 and PC are in the same network, but I can't find my PC via Mediaserver. But I don't care, I've my external HDD and much work to do with Jailbreak and FTP. So no time for movies. But thanks for explaining it.

No, this is to use your computer as a media server to your PS3 (listen to mp3, watch movies,.. streamed from your PC to your PS3) I don't use it in a while but i remember it supports most used video formats and subtitles. And you don't need anything to make it work.. only a PC, a PS3 and a local network..
