Beta 2 Release, this weekend the PS3 Media Server folks have released version 1.50.0 for Windows, Linux and Mac users.

pretty sure you can do that already - just save your image in a folder (I called mine "Images" and add the following line with correct image file name!) to the relevant .conf file (found in C:\Program Files\PS3 Media Server\renderers\)
