Update: Several users who updated to PS3 Firmware 3.42 have now confirmed (along with Sony
directly) that Sony has indeed added 'additional security features' and patched the PS3 exploit used for PS JailBreak, PSGroove and PSFreedom as
expected so it is advised you do NOT update if you plan to use them.
For those who just signed in to PlayStation Network, PS3 Firmware update 3.42 is now available to download.

While we can speculate on whether Sony blocked PS JailBreak with it, etc feel free to grab it below and report in the comments any changes you notice and we will update the news accordingly.
Lol a friend. Well buddy I'd say you are pretty much out of luck at the moment. Wait for an update from someone to allow it to work on 3.42. I'm sure it won't be that long.
We discussed the log issue in the Ban Wave thread: http://www.ps3news.com/forums/ps3-hacks/sony-suspends-ps3-consoles-psn-ban-wave-error-8002a227-112417-3.html
Again, the firmware isn't on the Hard drive! You can't change your firmware by swapping hard drives. Therefore the solution you propose is impossible.
Hope that clear things up.
What "they" saying is the backup manager leaves some kind of log that online $sony can find if your console is jailbroken or not.
The issue is... imagine... (its a little bit work but...) One harddrive with original firm with $ony updates so they dont blacklist the console, and for online / original proposes only. Other Harddrive with firm 3.41, just for offline use and playing backup games.
The issue is...I really want to try the PSJ but i don't want to blacklist my console
Sory if is confused...
