Sponsored Links
223w ago - Update: Several users who updated to PS3 Firmware 3.42 have now confirmed (along with Sony [Register or Login to view links]) that Sony has indeed added 'additional security features' and patched the PS3 exploit used for PS JailBreak, PSGroove and PSFreedom as expected so it is advised you do NOT update if you plan to use them.

For those who just signed in to PlayStation Network, PS3 Firmware update 3.42 is now available to download.

While we can speculate on whether Sony blocked PS JailBreak with it, etc feel free to grab it below and report in the comments any changes you notice and we will update the news accordingly.

Urh... The answer is on the page right before where you posted... Sorry for the auto-quote, but then again, read the frakking thread before posting!

I apologize in advance for seemingly asking the same question that others have over and over, but the bypass tool - allows you to not update your firmware, but allows you to still play games online? Reason i ask is, I used logans tool, and it seemed to be working but, i tried to login to mw2 online and it gave me an update error. Wanted to see if i was makin an error...?

So I *think* I updated my firmware to 3.42 (fml) last night, thinking it was 3.41. Just so happens they wanna release this damn update the same time I wanted to buy castle crushers. GREAT!

My question is: My hard drive is upgraded to a 320GB, which I did some time last year. The older hard drive is running 2.X firmware. If I plug in the other hard drive, can I somehow jailbreak still? Is the firmware stored on the hard drive or on the PS3 itself?

Is it possible to update games while going through Logan5's tool? I just get an error code when Pain is attempting an update.

If not, is there any other method that allows game updates?
