- Killzone 2 has been hyped up for years now. It has reached that state where a game is so hyped that it is nearly impossible for it to live up to the expectations.
Few games that have reached this state have lived up to the hype given to them. For most games, the hype is so high that they get buried under it (Too Human). So what will happen to Killzone 2?
Well if early talk about Killzone 2 is to be believed, it will exceed the mountainous hype it currently has.
Although it's not the most trustworthy source (not only because its name, but also because it had the first review), PlayStation: The Official Magazine gave Killzone 2 a perfect score in its February issue. The review said:
It's true that Killzone 2 is filled with moments that can handily be described as inspiring awe. Each scene is incredibly well detailed, from the gaps in jerry-rigged cover points letting you sneak in a killing headshot to scarred and scratched textures, the planet feels entirely believable... Without a doubt Killzone fans, action and shooter fans of any stripe will instantly tag this sequel as a powerful contender for best game of 2009.

of Rebel FM, Nick Suttner
, who had been playing the game, had some good words for the game:
Arthur [other host] asked me earlier if it was a Halo-killer and I'd so that's you-know, whatever... but I think this is finally the shooter that Sony needs. This is a very good game and this is now like a franchise for them. I don't know if it's going to sell for them but it's a very good shooter.
Suttner also said the second half of the game was better than the first, which wasn't as fun. He had no problem with the controls, although that may be because he was used to them from the preview build of the game. In the end, he said there was a few problems with the game but that he "really enjoyed it overall".
Other reviews should be trickling in within the next few weeks, so we'll see if the other critics share their praise of the game.
