285w ago - The latest Official PlayStation Blog entry may have revealed In-Game XMB Music Access, relating to the ongoing question that is "In-Game XMB Access - Will it have Music?"
On the PlayStation Blog, it lists the Burnout Paradise patch update content. To quote:
Plus heaps more, including:
- 1080i support for PlayStation 3 owners with "almost HD" sets
- Improved Standard Definition rendering for PlayStation 3
- Support for Custom Soundtracks on PlayStation 3
One thing stood out from the others.. "Support for Custom Soundtracks on PlayStation 3"
This could mean a couple of things, either each game will have it's own in game custom soundtracks, or Sony have succeeded in making In-Game XMB Music possible by just having the developer update the game to make the game compatible with the PS3's system & settings.
Of course I could be wrong, but I try to stick to the optimistic, rumor boosting, speculative side. My verdict? Yeah, it will. 2.40 will add In-Game XMB Music accessible through a PS3 version music player.

With the new update to Burnout Paradise I can no longer run @ 1080. I used to be able to force it to 1080p but now the highest it will go is 720p.
I have a 1080p Cineplus LCD screen which plays movies and games @ 1080p without issue (hdmi) but something is wrong with this update and now the game looks much different. This was my #2 game and now I can't play it because I can't concentrate because it looks so grainy. I find the cars have lost their shinyness and detail.
Now that my eyes are accustomed to GTAIV I'd say Burnout looks horrible on my screen now. Old graphics. I'm very surprised and need to know if anyone else is having this issue.
Yeah, from what i gather - only certain games will allow access to the Music section - if they are designed to - so that other games (most older ones) won't get that option unless they get updated. And i think also, when you are able to access the Music menu, you can only pick playlists (from the ingame xmb videos i have seen), so that the game still retains the control over the tracks, and when to start/stop songs etc. But all will be revealed i guess when 2.40 hits the air.
