Haze Becomes Full PlayStation 3 Exclusive?
Xbox 360 and PC versions still possible, but not in development.

GameSpot UK today that
Free Radical's upcoming first-person shooter,
Haze, is currently only in development for the PlayStation 3. Previously announced as a timed exclusive for the holiday season (with Xbox 360 and PC versions to follow in 2008), this confirmation makes Haze a full PlayStation 3 exclusive -- at least for the time being.
According to the report, Ubisoft has not ruled out the possibility of "new partnerships" in the future, but that "the official statement on PC and Xbox 360 is that these platforms are not confirmed."
Haze will ship exclusively for the PlayStation 3 on November 19th. Our hands-on impressions from the Leipzig Games Convention have the full skinny on the spiritual successor to the TimeSplitters franchise, just be sure to ignore any mentions of it being a "timed" exclusive.

Yeah Lair got some low scores but it also got good and high ones. 7's, 8's and even a 9. In the end it's an average game that is not for everyone. BTW, Gamepro gave it a 3.75/5 (75%) not 4.5.5.
Um, No. They have said specifically that they have not worked on a 360 or PC built period and as of right now have no plans to.
Play Mag gave HS the 10, GamePro a 4.5/5 (9) and it got many 8's.
...they don't have anywhere near the amount of money that MS has, the kind of money they give away so companys make products 4 them, like Paramount and the $150mil, or the few bil 4 the crappy console problems.
Advent, they got tons of money, as long as people are brand loyal, they will always have money. Whether they spent money for exclusives we all could care less. Games sucks=no one will buy, games is good=people will buy.
...Capcom and Sega always supported MS thats why those games went over 2 360 plus the extra money. Sony dosen't pay for any exclusive, they don't have that kind of money. This is Ubisoft's first PS3 exclusive, they would have lost money on 360 anyway with Halo coming out. Its a PS3 lead sku anyway so they just droped the other games. I don't think it will ever go 2 360 now becaue who's gonna stop playing Halo for an old port game they never heard of b4.
Publishers are still scared to test games on the PS3 exclusively (unless they've always said so, like with Lair and MGS4) because the sales are still weak. That's why we saw Devil May Cry 4 and Virtua Fighter 5 dance over to the 360. I think Sony paid to have Haze exclusive for now to "Test" the PS3s exclusive marketability. At the same time, it may just be because of the massive assault of FPSers on the 360, like others are saying.

Haze has spent lots of time in development for Xbox 360/PC; it will eventually be released for both. Haze isn't a "big-name," game, and it can't compete against Halo 3, Mass Effect, Bioshock...on Xbox 360 during Holiday Shop Season 2007. It's better to release Haze in 2008 with extra features & less competition.
is only one place that sells 360's so just bc ps3 is outselling the 360 there it doesnt mean they are everwhere. usually the sales go up a week before or after the games come out. like with gears of war

Halo 3 same gameplay? I know this isn't the right thread for that, but saying "same game play" is a very lazy and uneducated blase way of saying you don't know jack. They've included radar jammers, different types of shields, flash bangs, meta games in the campaign, smarter/more enemies...etc etc. Turn off your spam.
As for Haze...After the crappy developer walk-through I was positive I wasn't getting it. It looks like it should be released in another year, not 2-3 months...So I won't miss it. ...I just met a dude in my building who works for Sony and got a free PS3...maybe I'll play it on his system...

Okay, lemme drop some science: Warhawk - 5.0, Lair - 6.5, Heavenly Sword - 7.0. Rather than smear Xbox 360 (which will still get this eventually), pray that this game gets above 7.0. The PS3 really needs it!
It's nice to see some third parties haven't abandoned the "elusive exclusive" I'll call it. Understandably most devs are going to go with the system with the larger install base for their exclusive titles, but what most forget is that they could help shape a system if they take a chance and release an exclusive on the platform.
Say for example if Haze becomes a 9+/10 game, then everyone will be talking about it, people will buy it... People will buy Ps3's to play it, and all of a sudden the Haze devs have a franchise on their hands that Sony gamers will love them for and continue buying sequels. And singlehandedly the devs helped shape the early stages of Ps3 becoming popular.
It has started finally that the Ps3 is becoming more popular with the release of games such as Warhawk. My friend just the other day decided to pick up a Ps3 in addition to the 360 he already has so he can play Warhawk. Sony needs more of these AAA games if they want to be competitive this generation, and with the amount of money they have from the previous generation I'm pretty sure they can organize some exclusive deals with third parties. Just my opinion though.
Killzone 2 better not add a color pallate to their game or it WILL destroy the 360!!!! :(

they dont want to release haze against the heavy hitters on the 360 this fall, so they are most likley holding off on that until 2008. why else would they announce it and then unnanouce it?
Except for Bioshock and Halo 3 of course. After these two FPS I wouldn't care if they never released another FPS again. The genre needs to be buried with old school turned based rpg's and the open world GTA clone.

Played it at PAX and hated it. It even crashed so they kicked me off early
makes sence the 360 has to many great shooters, this game would get lost in the ocean, if it's good or bad.
Too bad nobody cares that it's exclusive.
i suppose, its not like the game or many games will sell on the 360 like hype 3, or halo 3, so if its timed or an actual exclusive it should at least do better on the PS3.
Warhawk is fun; I've been playing it for hours. The only thing that sucks is that it appears to need a patch out of the box (the very rare freezing, the trouble connecting into games, stats not updating). But even if you don't play in a ranked game it's still tons of fun. It's like a balanced 3rd person BF2.
My take is that Ubi wanted to make PS3 exclusive because no one would buy it on 360 with H3, Bioshock, or ME. By spending more time polishing the PS3 ver they'll get more sales than ports like EA's. Yeah, we all know every version of EA's games are buggy. Not even Madden, but Tiger Woods too, or any of their other "games"

Sorry, but Timesplitters was a bargin bin game for me and Haze is on the fast track to hitting that status as well. I'll wait for when I have a buy 2, get 1 free offer and I can't think of anything else I'd want play on my PS3.

yes i have ive played them and yes warhawk is a good game but its not a system seller and ninja gaiden sigma completely owns heavenly sword. also if you didnt notice i mentioned their ratings. as much as sony has hyped all 3 of those games they should have gotten atleast a 9-9.5. basically so far sony has far from justified my ps3 purchase. in my opinion the only good exclusive they have that is worth buying right now is resistance, since warhawk is only multiplayer.

Haze is not a system seller and after it's LGC showing it wasn't looking too good for the game. If it's a PS3 exclusive, good on Sony for picking up a B grade game. Maybe next time they can pick up an A grade game that I'll want to play on my PS3.
Free Radical rocks. Looks interesting and 4 player co-op is always fun.

It just doesn't seem difficult or hectic enough. The insanity thing is it's only unique feature. Personally I'd prefer to have halo 3 with it's crazy looking gameplay, new features {yeah there actually are gonna be a ton of new features. Sure waited a long time to tell us!} kickass multiplayer, I'm assuming {based on the beta, halo 2, and kickass looking new vehichles and weapons}, and solid story.
Of course they're still making it for 360 and PC; why would they throw away the profit potential? Sony needs this head start right now, and pretty badly. Either way, this game could be a cool gem, but like somebody said before: it'll probably get lost in an ocean of FPSs. Still want to try it, though.
Though I don't have a PS3, I don't think PS3 owners deserve to be treated like that! Just can the game completely. I will admit though, it has nice sound effects.

after watching the dev walk thru for part of the game(gamespot) I have to say it was completely underwhelming. Compared to kick ass stuff like CoD4 it just seem so....generic. Kind of like a poor mans Half Life2. levels of just going thru and clearing out rooms, hallways with one or several enemies at a time, man I am so tired of this same old same old, only naw with prettier graphics...meh.
Good for PS3 I suppose to have something exclusive this fall(from a 3rd party), but watch and see it come out for 360 and PC by the end of next year.
Will come out on X360 in 2008 BETTER, with better graphisc (PS3 is WEAK graphicaly - RSX su**), more fluid, more features, etc.
As always X360 version will be SUPERIOR.

I think that anyone with half a brain saw this coming, but then again most gamers are half brains. I saw plenty of footage of this and i want the game, that makes it 2 games that i will be playing that have 4 player online co-op, Haze and Halo 3. Being a dual console owner is the way to go.

I've been playing games since the day of the original NES. I've seen console come and goes. I've owned NES, Genesis, PS1, PS2, Xbox and now PS3. My question is, why do people still defending 360 so religiously? I mean I know that when you buy something, it becomes something special to you, but come on? 360 is broken piece of hardware, when its own maker come out and extending the warrenty, you know something is wrong. Some time it's not just a shear amount of games avaiable for the system, it's up to the console too if it can last long enough for you to finish the game in the first place. To finish my point, I just want to say to anyone out their royal to their broken anything, get over it and get a new system. Peace!!!

My take is Haze was probably developed on the PS3 and it is probably using way more than 9.7GBs! The 360 or PC can't handle that yet! Seriously, everything I've seen from this game made me less interested in it. The original screenshots from last year looked good, but after seeing the trailer and footage from E3 I became completely disinterested in it. This is no loss for microsoft, if true.

...it probably will, the only PS3 games that don't r ports. This is like the first game that Ubisoft made exclusive for a sony platform. The game looks kinda fun and it has 4-player co-op and pretty good graphics, but I wanna c more multiplayer stuff.
It all comes down to money.
I hope it turns out more exciting than what my impressions suggest.

I won't be getting this game anytime soon since I still have no intentions on buying a PS3 until they do a $100 price drop and get more exclusives I actually care about. I was really looking forward to this one too. I guess my wait will just be a lot longer.

I'll believe this only once haze has been out a few months and no PC or Xbox version has been reconfirmed.
Ubisoft tried exactly the same trick last year with assassins creed. Announced it as PS3 only, then a few weeks later changed their minds. I think this is most likely a marketing ploy, paid for by Sony in a lame attempt to push PS3 sales.
Haze is a high budget shooter. Ubisoft is not going to forego all those xbot dollars.
It wont tell a better story than Bioshock and it wont be as fun as Halo 3 or Gears on multiplayer. Wow what a great exculsive :)
Halo is the de-facto standard for console first person shooters because of how fun it is to play. In addition, it broke a lot of ground in part one for being one the best networkable and kickass games you could play over LAN. The only game before it that came close was 4-player splitscreen Goldeneye on N64. Then, in part 2, the game offered a really good single player game on top of a fantastic multiplayer game. It was also the first of its kind to offer seamless XBox Live implementation. Find a buddy, play with that buddy, move to a different game with that buddy--and generally have more fun all night long than you would playing with different strangers all night. That, and correct me if I'm wrong, but Bungie.net was also the first to offer complete stat-tracking for a console FPS, down to vectors/angles of attack, offering additional learning tools to n00bs to figure out how to play better, and for the L33Ts to show people how much they Rawk. OH, I don't know--the Halo series has pretty much kicked total ass in the console world since it's creation with the only downside to it being the cheating that happened. But, cheating happens in almost every game, so really, you can't hold that against Halo.
Haze just looks like another me-too shooter in the overly violent fall line up (seriously WTF is up with all the shooters this fall?). If people weren't turned off by the live-action trailer, then it would be the graphics that make them say "Halo/ Call of Duty/ Bioshock/ Metroid Prime 3/ Medal of Honor please." PS3 still does not have a game that makes me want the system. If MGS4 really is exculsive, then i'll think about it.

Bioshock, Halo 3, Half Life Orange Box, Call of Duty 4....frankly, I don't think 360 owners are going to miss it. If it gets 9s or 10s, I might have a look at it on my PS3, but TimeSplitters never really did it for me in the last generation, so I won't be holding my breath.
free radical games are some of the best shooters out there, matter of fact, time splitters is the only FPS on xbox and playstation 2 that ran at 60 FPS with full 4-player splitt screen and with 10 additional bots, with absolutly NO slowdown. some of you are just mad that for a change , 360 games are being dropped from production,,,,the game is going to be solid.

Has anyone seen video of the game yet? It looks bad, really, really bad. The graphics are blah and the gameplay looks boring/not fun. Go to gametrailers and find some vids of it and you'll see what I mean.
