PSX on Xbox

Hey guys i've been doing a little browsing, and i seen that there's a PSX emulator for the xbox, my question is how good does it work? I would try it but i dont have any PSX games (yet). I just wanna know if it's something worth putting on my good ole box.

It runs most games reasonably well, though it does get choppy sometimes. The big problem is that it doesn't enhance the graphics any. Its a pain to get games to run though, as they have to be in bin/cue format. Originals won't play. This means that if you have a stack of 200 PS1 games you need to convert them on your PC and then FTP them over.

If your interested in playing PS1 games, I suggest you check out the PC emulator EPSXE. On an HDTV, PS1 games look better through it than actual xbox and PS2 games. Somebody made a "port" of EPSXE that runs through xbox linux, but I don't think it enhances graphics either, and saving might be an issue too.

I have only tried running FF8 on the xbox coz it crashes on the psp and found it a little choppy. Do some research and you will find relevant info on getting the rigt format for your games. You will need to run them from HD rather than Cd for best results

You Sir need to read the thread this post is in. It is already in a Xbox forum. Don't belittle people when you yourself have absolutely no idea what topics should be where.

pcsxbox SUCKS! you see, as it is probably CAPABLE of running alot of games smoothly, you have to tweak the settings after which case it will AUTOLOAD THE GAME the next time you try to run it... whats the problem with this you ask?

well... say you tweaked some settings that made that particular game (it remembers the bin/cue files..) that makes the emulator crash upon load... then you CAN NEVER CHANGE THE SETTINGS BECAUSE YOU CAN'T GET THE DISK IMAGE TO WORK.

stick to ePSXE. And for the linux port of epsxe, The xbox barely has enough ram to run Linux on STANDBY, putting linux on xbox is just for web browsing. Stick w/ ePSXe on PC.

And SoTN works like a charm so does FF8, dunno what ur problem is lol.

That's, precisely, the reason why, You have to press the Black button (on the bin) to clear the settings, so, you can set it again.. DUH! :tongue2

ISO files work fine in PCSXbox, as well as original PSX games. Most games play fairly well, but might have problems with the movies or soundtracks.

Like the PC emulators though, you'll need the PSX BIOS also, not hard to find, but you gotta Google to get it.
