Video: Free60 - New JTAG Hack Booting Off a Cygnos360 NAND

Today xZool2k9 has released a video demonstrating the upcoming Free60 Homebrew Exploit for XBox 360 consoles.

The video is available below, and to quote from the caption:

This is the confirmation that the hack announced by Tmbinc is actually working. I have used a sample Cygnos360 V2 I got from Team Cygnos and flashed the hack onto the second NAND. The onboard NAND was untouched by that.

As you can see I can still switch to the NXE dash. When switching to the NAND onboard of Cygnos the blue LED lights up on the USB daughter board. I can then boot straight of that NAND.

AMAZING WORK TMBINC!!!!!!

Once again my soul cries over this...
Wrong choice of consoles = depression. Still, hope never dies. One day we will see a similar ps3 video that isn't a prank made by kids with lots of free time...

why not get a 360 to try out the hack. I seriously love my ps3 and really wouldnt change my gaming experience, but 200 dlls to try out a nice hack doesnt seem a lot of money.

The xbox1 scene was really great, but now a days I have all those hacks on a computer hooked up to my tv, really what do you expect from a 360 hack, xbmc? That already runs on a pc also emus and what not. Again what are you expecting from a ps3 hack that you currently cant get today?

Some people say that its not the same having a console vs a pc hooked up to a tv but if you want the goodies you can get them. This hack is just for the fun of making and the learning experience, sure its nice to have a little console that runs homebrew buut dont lament yourself, 200 bucks is not too much.

Sorry bud but speak for yourself... 200 bucks is a lot of money to me and I won't buy another console. I want the ps3 hacked for a number of reasons, the main one is for watching movies using a decent media player and not that streaming media crap that has to reencode DVDs to stream it or else I don't get subs, that doesn't play natively avis / mkvs / etc without reencoding using MEncoder or something like that. I want to use my ps3 to share files with windows... I want freedom... And please, don't say stuff like (buy a computer then... buy bla bla bla).

xbox 360 (update on offline machine)

so today i wanted to play wolfenstein on my modded xbox 360, which isnt connected to the internet.. so i connected my harddrive off my online xbox 360 to my modded system. when i turned it on, i got a update xbox screen, i choose not to update, then when i tried to play it said i must update inorder to play the game.

so i updated and play my backup just fine, but when i reconnected the harddrive to my online xbox it asked again to update.. i guess the point i am making is, eventually everyone i will be updating there xbox's if they want to tally up the gamerscore...

What do you mean?
I really think it won't ask to update anymore after you install the hack from free60 but still it's just a guess.

preceptor, hobbys are expensive and let me tell you this hobby is by far one of the cheapest ones you can find around. Im not saying that 200 dlls is spare change, dont get me wrong, 200 bucks are 200 bucks.

And about the media center you go to all that trouble of reencoding and stuff because you are using the wrong tool. For media center you should get a computer that runs xbmc or plex, if you cant get that or dont want to use a computer look for a standalone media player. There are great stand alone media players like the WDHD (i think thats the name) that best buy sells for around $200 bucks.

Again it all boils down to money but this is a hobby, and if you dont want to spend then look the best reencoding app you can get your hands on and reencode and dont spend a dime. Sure it would be nice to have a solution for you and have a hack, but believe me some of the coders have spent thousands of dollars to get a hack for us.

Please dont get me wrong a ps3 hack would be great for educational purposes and fun but we dont have one and if the scene gives us lemons then we should make lemonade. Cheers buddy.
