“We want to offer consumers a bit more memory at the same low price so they can enjoy more experiences on Xbox Live,” a spokesperson stated. “The Xbox 360 system software uses some of the included 512MB memory – less storage will be available to users. Additional storage may be needed for game saves, Xbox Live Arcade games, content downloads, personal file storage, and additional enhanced functionality.

I love they way they add in 512mb of memory but still sell the hard drives at ridiculous prices at my local ebgames 20gb's are going for $90, 60gb's for $159, and 120gb's for $221. Not to mention that you can buy a 120gb 2.5inch HDD for around $50-60.
