maybe they figure that it'll help sales like it did with the gamecube?

this is only modding the dvd rom to bypass checks nothing more.. you will be able to keep the chip on all the time its nothing more then a simple code feeding the device the info it needs.

I have a question though, these chips that are coming out the for the wii, is one going to be able to dump discs directly off the Wii or is one still going to have to use that Wii dumper with that those special drives?

Guys I'm a bit confused about the meaning of this feature:

- Boots different NTSC region Wii games/back-ups

What does it mean exactly. I'm a european Wii owner, (PAL Wii of course :smilew) does it means that I will be able to also use other game imports then PAL (NTSC games) with my console? Or for that matter would I be able to use PAL games at all ? :??

Thanks a lot :smile2

That sounds like it supports Imports/Import back-ups to me... I guess time will tell for sure.

That would be GREAT cause one of the reasons that I haven't pre-ordered any of the other chip-mods is that they don't support imports which by my humble opinion is a "must" feature

BTW great site of console news.. I visit it 2-3 times a day for my console news

that is nice. the one feature im really looking for in a wii chip is the upgrading. then the $40+ cost of the chip isnt a one time deal then, as new features can be added and old ones updated
