The Wii is no doubt a system that I will purchase upon launch.
I have been looking forward to the shifting in the gaming paradigm that it represents through its abandonment of the technological arms race in favor of actual innovation in the area of control. The fundamentals of the technology have been in place for a while (power glove, activator, eye toy... just to give an example of the evolution of the process, even if two out of three outright sucked :tongue2), but the accurate positioning provided by the wii-mote looks to be a very solid and well implemented innovation.
As for the actual pricing details, I think it's a bit high given the capabilities of the 360 (it's only $50 less than the core system)... but I'll still buy it.
Though I do think that they're charging too much for downloadable games. A similar pricing structure seems to work fairly well for the 360, so I suppose that I'm just in the wrong target audience.
