Thumbs up Region Free Patcher NTSC To PAL WII-SYNDiCATE

To quote from the NFO File:

+-APP.iNFORMATION

Run this app to patch NTSC games to run on PAL.

Rename your unscrambled iso to backup.iso and put in the same
dir as our application. We'll bring a better gui version soon.

Metal Slug is the only game we tested, but more should work. Some
will not work due to how the game is coded, the same reason no
PAL will work on NTSC when patched.

Have fun!
Source Code:
Code:
Offset 0x04E003 -> Regionbyte 00-02

00 = NTSC JAP
01 = NTSC USA
02 = PAL

Offset 0x04E010 -> 16 Bytes code taken from another Wii game, doesn't really matter what game.

SRC:

# include < windows.h > # include < stdio.h >
struct PATCH {DWORD offset; to char valores[17 ]; int
nbytes; } parche[ ] = {{0x0Ê003, "\x02", 0x01},// Patch 1
{0x0Ê010,
"\x00\x80\x80\x06\x03\x03\x04\x03\x07\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00",
0x10},// Patch 2}; void to main(char * argv[], int argc) {CASES
OUT * file; system("cls"); printf("\n\n\t\t
--------------------------------\n"); printf("\t\t|    SYNDICATE Patcher Region    | \n"); printf("\t\t| dissasembly reconstructed code | \n"); printf("\t\t
--------------------------------\n"); if ((file =
fopen("backup,iso", "rb+")) = NULL) {for (int
i=0;i<(sizeof(parche)/sizeof(struct PARCHE));i++) {fseek(fichero,
parche[i].offset, SEEK_SET); fwrite(parche[i].valores,
parche[i].nbytes, 1, file); } printf("\n\t\t U.S. game is now
Pale!\n\n\n"); } else printf("\n\t\t Not backup.iso
found!\n\n\n"); system("PAUSE"); }

BE CAREFULL USING THIS... Seems like nothing is working anymore on my Wii.

you may just have to unplug the wii for a bit. When i burned open season ntsc and put it in my wii the wii will not reconize the disc and unless i unplug my wii for an hour it will not play any backups at all.

Thx for the advice... did it play the original games when you had those probs?

Anyway im trying the power option right now.

Edit: I have to confirm that after you cycle the power a couple of minutes everything is working again. However after I again insert a NTSC game into the wii it wont read any backups anymore (after you played the game).

So if it means i have to cycle the power from my wii everytime i want to play a ntsc game...

Too bad i wanted to test all the other ntsc games but ill give that opportunity to someone else :tongue2

It appears another is out which included a GUI this time! RegionFrii_GUI_With_NTSC-J_Patcher_WII-SYNDiCATE :smile2

Run this app to patch NTSC games to run on PAL, and now NTSC-J
on NTSC (note we have not tested this, but people requested). You
could patch PAL games to NTSC as well, but since they dont boot
at all don't bother even trying.

Heres the GUI version as promised.

Have fun and dont support rip-off chips!

that is a really interresting post. As far as I understand, it is still not possible to patch NTSC-J => PAL?
Actually, I would be glad if this could allow patching Bleach or Naruto isos to a PAL format.
If anyone manages to make them work on a pal wii, please let us know

i don't know about NTSC-J

but i do know that i just made a COASTER by burning a patched World Series Of Poker USA (NTSC to PAL). it seemed to boot up (disc got recognized) but it stalls AT the loading screen

unless loading a Wii game for 20 minutes would be normal

but i think i'll wait for my chip update to try and play an unpatched burned NTSC ISO
