Update: Here is the new file, I reproduced the result with another file and worked on cleaning it up till I knew where things were going wrong. I hope this is useful. And included is the image of the crucial points. The first is the mixing point between header and footer. The second is the very last byte before the the crash will not occur.

While we're all awaiting the next release (and hints) from the GODS, some other progress on getting unsigned code to run on the PS3 may have also been found today!

Those idling in iRC EFNet #PS3News already caught word of it, and for those who haven't just yet hacked2123 has sent an MPEG file to several users for testing. We gave this a try on a v1.10 PS3, a v1.11 PS3, and a v1.31 PS3 console- thus far it only appears to be confirmed working with v1.10 and v1.11 Firmware.

Specific details will be posted in our PlayStation 3 Chat Forum soon by hacked2123 himself along with the relevant file for other DEVs to examine. The goal here is obviously to sort how to inject code using this method, which will (when accomplished) lead to PS3 homebrew, iSO Loaders, and everything else! =]

Also, Vilvic Media Center v1.0.5 BETA For PS3 and PS3 Video 9 v2.13 is now available, which includes the following changes and updates:
