Update #2: We now have public confirmation that the v1.00 firmware method DOES work, with the release of the 100% LEGAL "homebrew" Hello World, PSP!EBOOT.PBP file by NEM / SAMPU-SYOKUNIN. Additional pictures of Hello World, PSP! are available by clicking HERE under "Attached Images" near the bottom.
Interestingly, this EBOOT.PBPwasn't put together with the recently-released ELF2PBP command line tool nor the the previously-released PBP Unpacker v0.50. The source code is now available, complete with his outpatch.exe which is a tool used for patching ELF files generated by GCC/ld to make them a PSP ELF! To quote from the author:

Update #1: We had initially posted simple FILELIST.TXT files generated with the popular http://www.isobuster.com utility, however, we have now removed these lists from our Web site until further notice although they contained no (c) data of any kind. I believe this decision came after we received word that even http://udn.com/NEWS/INFOTECH/INF4/2664107.shtml and http://australianit.news.com.au/articles/0,7204,15196442%5E15321%5E%5Enbv%5E,00.html is carrying the story with our URL referenced, among thousands of other News sites around the globe. Basically, we do not wish to take any risks with jeopardizing our Web site even though we have yet to receive any word to remove the file text lists.
We'll update this post shortly with further details, but we have confirmed the World's first PSP releases are in circulation now... done by none other than the GODs @ http://www.paradogs.com! Titles released thus far include Vampire Chronicle: The Chaos Tower (JAP), Ridge Racers (JAP), and Wipeout: Pure (USA). To quote from the NFO files:

Of course you can't play this game yet, and you won't be playing it anytime soon on a burnt umd disc (as sony has already said they wont be releasing burners for these).
However maybe it will give you an idea of what PSP games are like, and just what is hidden on those little discs Hopefully it will give psp developers a chance to look into the files etc used on a UMD. Knowing what files are present and where in the filepath they can be found may help with loading of 'driver' files etc from disc.
(Hint: UMDs use an iso9660 based filesystem, so this image file can be opened in any iso image browser such as isobuster to look at, extract and generally play with the files within. It could also be burnt to a dvd to let u access the files on your computer such as in windows explorer)
