A Note for All UMDGen users....

Work is currently underway for the next update of UMDGen.
Can anyone who has come across images that don't work correctly before or after editing in UMDGen v3.5 please post here the game title and the problems you had.

These are all CSO compressed and don't work. Well, UMDGen can't recognize them

UMDGen has to create a temp uncompressed ISO before compressing to DAX/CSO.
Yes, we will try to add more compression features this time around.

We have already created an 'Optimize' feature that dummies the contents of the update folder (to 0 byte), detects and resizes dummy data and removes extra padding.

What version of CSO compressor did you compress these images with?
I just compressed DefJam - Fight For NY and UMDGen v3.5 opened it without any problems. :??

This is just the way UMDGen v3.5 works. When you open a compressed image in UMDGen it only uncompresses the header (to read file/folder info) which is why, if any editing is needed, you have to uncompress the image first. This is also the reason no icon and param.sfo info isn't displayed. Hopefully though, the next update will have more standard features enabled in 'compressed' mode.

I use UMDGen to [de]compress .iso/.cso: the level of .cso compression used is the 9, doesn't it? Glad to hear that new compression features is coming... and the new awesome ''Optimize' feature that dummies the contents of the update folder...'! But like kayjay I would like NC areas feature to video /audio files, if not ask too much!
And I also use to check Title, Disc ID/Version, Firmware and Region, but only in .iso format: is it possible to extend to .cso format?

About the issues with games:
I got the message 'The selected file is not recognized as a PlayStation Portable image' in some occasions... like when I tried to open the .iso from a .rar file Ape Scape P[EUR][FULL] of 291MB, but I think this .iso was hardly modificated by that spanish group...

This is only becoming an issue because some "internet released" images are not sticking to the UMD specifications. Although the psp reads them correctly if you open them in ISO Buster you will see they not only have an ISO9660 file system but also a Joliet file system.

As UMDGen detects the iso you are trying to open also has a joliet file system it displays the message.
This has been addressed in the next release so should not cause any more problems ;-)

Correct me if I'm wrong....but .CSO files don't use NC areas do they? As far as I'm aware only DAX uses this feature.
