Need a simpler overview of how UMDGen works

I understand what the app is for, but I a not sure exactly how to use it. Can anyone give me a relatively high level tutorial that would help a new user learn how to rip and or make ISOs with UMDGen.

I can already see my UMD drive ok. I have tried to rip a few UMDs to my PC. I can understand how the SW works, but I can not get anything I have ripped to work on my psp. I know I am really late to the party, but hey at least I showed up!

I did find the UDMGen tutorials on the web page, but they are version 1!! If someone could help me I would be willing to make updated tutorials. Assume that I already have the psp attached and am ready to just rip the ISO.

So what I need if you are so inclined, is high level generic steps of how to rip, what to save (like extract or save as or ....), and how to save the best way in ISO and CFO. Specifically ISO - CSO.

Also a general description of what each tool does in the tool bar. I have no idea what a ppf is? I hope some can tell me.

UMDGen won't help you to rip PSP iSOs... it's only for rebuilding already ripped PSP images. In order to rip PSP iSOs, search in the PSP Chat section for Tutorials and Tools on how to do that. As I mentioned in another thread here, UMDGen is a Windows (PC) application... it does not require you to hook your PSP up to your PC to use it, or link your PSP in any way (so not sure why you're trying to 'see' your UMD drive etc).
