LocoRoco, how do I know what I can get rid of?

Using UMDGen, how do I know what files I can get rid of from the game LocoRoco? It's around 693MB and I'm trying to fit it onto my 512 along with DevHook.

To UMDGen: I approved this thread (the other day a bunch of "rip" threads we nuked from your feedback about this section being for UMDGen only) as this pertains to UMDGen so... it may be useful to leave at least one thread on rebuilding games via UMDGen detailing things such as this. Unfortunately the Tutorials on www.UMDGen.com are quite dated, and I'm not sure when the guys (Xsquader, Hammer, etc) will be around to make more relevant ones.

PS: The "relinking" method [with the source etc] works if I want to get rid of all the videos and sounds of one game? If it works, then I think I will watch a certain video over and over again because all of the others are relinked to it. How can I avoid this?

Thats how relinking works. If you don't want the same file to be played over and over then, for example, replace one of the movie files with a blank.pmf and relink all others too it.... the file will be played over and over but because it's blank you won't see anything.

Hm...So, I have these:

PMF 1: Many Many MB
PMF 2: Some MB
PMF 3: Some MB
PMF 4: Some MB
Result: Many MB, a pain in the ass

But...

PMF 1 -> Blank PMF: Few KB
PMF 2 -> Blank PMF: Few KB
PMF 3 -> Blank PMF: Few KB
PMF 4 -> Blank PMF: Few KB

Result: A happy b@st@rd!

If I do this, then of what use is relinking?

PS: I would like to thank UMDGen for his dynamic appearance in the forums and for this useful tips.

Two thumbs up for this - UMDGen is a super app, although being new to this I am having a hard time getting to grips with it.

For ex: I was trying to make Gangs of London fit my 1g stick, managed to extract and rip Gol.bf down to 700+Mbs down from 900+Mbs, tried to replace the file and rebuild the ISO in UMDGen 3.50 and for the life of me can't understand why I ended up with a bigger iso than the original...

I think this is a great idea to have one thread detailing how to rebuild games with the latest version UMDGen. I am looking forward to it.

I deleted the share files in PSP_GAME/USRDATA/data/sharing. There's no need to replace with blanks. And if you want you can keep the one's for english or what ever language. For example, keep the ones that end in en.bin if you want to keep the english ones. There are only for sharing the demo levels.

anyone like this game? I think its just aweful. I would think that with all the software companies out there, there would be better games than this.
