TiltedScreen (linked above) reports that more publishers plan on allowing PSP UMD games to partially install on the memory sick, much in the same way that PS3 games install.
Apparently this new feature is already available with two games, to quote:
A few publishers have gotten together because of the all the large Memory Sticks on the market. They plan on allowing the PSP UMD games to install partial data on to the PSP pro duo mem stick.
The install similar to what a handful PlayStation 3 games offer. Mana Khemia: Student Alliance, Dissidia: Final Fantasy, and if a menu screen is anything to go by Irem's Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 3 (Disaster Report 3) will too.
Games such as Final Fantasy has a data install feature that will let you choose how much space you want to use: 243 MB, 371 MB, or 520 MB. More space means shorter load times in between battles.
Now none of these games are out yet in the US, but 2 games are already scheduled to show up state side. Will this feature help with the PSP piracy issue... or add to it, what do you think?
