wouldnt you just make the firmware pretend to be a newer version than sonys latest release.
for example if sony are up to 1.52 them the custom firmware should go around telling your games that it is 1.6 that way there wont be a game who thinks the version is to low.
or you could just not buy reall games, that would teach sony not to bully people to update firmware :-P
sneak, this forum isn't about illegal software. One of the main advantages of being able to dump your own games and playing them from MS is the increase in battery life. We aren't sure how much more play time will be gained yet, but the idea of not having any mechanical actions while playing the game is telling me that there will be a lot of gain.
This path has been travelled before. The people who are engineering this stuff know what they are doing, and they will do a good job. Don't worrying about simple things.
does anyone know if it will be possible to update the psp with an original update by sony after we installes the loader on our psp. i dont want to wreck my psp with the loader. there should be a posibiltiy to delete the loader and to reupdate the psp with the original sony update.

in no way was i suggesting otherwise, my closing comment was simply implying that if sony become to nazi about new games not running on certain firmware versions they might accidentally anienate the PSP dev comunity. which would be bad for sony.
sorry to post this again, but I never got an answer before. If this loader surfaces and it is what we all assume it will be, will I be able to then run emulators on my (currently) 1.5 firmware PSP?
