UMD Games that Include Firmware Update

So is there an official list somewhere that tells us all the games that will automatically update our firmware? With the 1.5.0 exploit coming soon, I do not really want to get a game that will automatically update it.

And how will they do this? If they are updating your firmware while you are playing without your consent, and you decide to turn off your PSP, you're going to completely screw it up. They HAVE to ask you, or else they'll have a lot of dead PSP's that are under warranty. Trust me, they won't auto-update, its too risky on Sony's part. However, forcing you to update is almost just as bad as autoupdating, if you actually want to play any of the commercial games. However, there will eventually be a work-around, as there always is.

My guess is that Midnight Club 3 is most likely gonna have a required update.... Its expected to sell big and because of that we are most likely screwed... It will be too bad though if it does include it... I would have looked forward to purchasing it but now I'll just wait till I hear if it includes the update or not..

Won't launch titles eventually do an auto-update? Like if a copy of Wipeout Pure (currently doesn't auto-update) was manufactured two months from now?

I wonder how auto-updating will work. Will it do it if you start the game or does it just need to spin up in the UMD drive? If it doesn't do it until you tell the PSP to start the game then hopefully someone will write a program that checks if the UMD has an auto-update program on it before starting. Then it would be nice if someone found a way to get around the updating because I doubt the games that require you to update won't work with 1.5 or 1.0.

I believe this is true. The will most likely have the update already on the game UMD disc and will automatically update or prompt you to. I think it stinks, but what can we do but to update if we want to play certain games in the future.

my suggestion is that they make a "firmware emulator" that works almost like the 1.50 loader. it makes the game think you have the updated firmware and lets you play it. the only problem this could have is if the game actually uses something that is in the updated firmware... but, other than that i think it should work.

or if there is a way to run the newest firmware off of your MS instead of the flash mem, that way you can play it and keep 1.0 or 1.50.
