Apparently, people like to skim & browse rather than read the whole thread. I mentioned a freeware hex editor (post #81 in this thread) that works great. It's called "XVI32" (should be first site from yahoo! search) and it does the job without a hitch. Granted, it's basic and may not be n00b-friendly... but if you are daring enough to use a hex editor, you should be able to figure it out easily. Also, it doesn't require anything to be installed... just download the zip and extract it to where ever you put stuff on your PC.

Anyway, it loads and saves files well. Can open and write (save) my edited eboots within 2-3 minutes max. The only problem I found was if you hit "backspace" or "delete" when trying to edit a character. It pretty much just starts eating up resources cause i think it's trying to refit that altered file using just your memory/pagefiles... which ain't good if your editing a 500~700 MB file. Instead, set the hex address to "00" to clear it's value rather than "delete" it.

I still gotta rip, convert, and edit my copy of Castlevania SOTN for my new Popstation collection (doin it tomorrow cause I'm having too much fun with Crash Team Racing)... I'll try to write up a walkthrough process for the hex-editing (if not the whole thing) to try and alleviate some of this stress for you people. :cool2

Sweet now i can finish up deception 3.

Deception 3 (USA Works)
PopStation KS GUI Mods v0.2-v0.4 For PSP from the main page is a great addition to the scene, it automates alot of the steps, a must have tool for the cause. All we need now is a way to load our old original psone saves although i dont mind starting over.

That app is indeed a great addition. It works like a charm.

Now, about those saves:
If you mean a way to load up your old saves from the memory card... you probably wont be able to do so unless you were one of the few (including myself) who snagged a Dex-Drive way back in the day. It's also a possibility that you can get them if you have a PS3... but I don't have one so I'm just speculating on that.

If you mean from your PSOne emu, ideally ePSXe, I think you can just copy the memcard file from that program into the folder for the game you want. You might have to just rename it, but i'd think it would work. I haven't tried this either... so again I'm just speculating, but it's worth trying. Let us know if it works.
