Official PSP 3.03 OE-C And Compatibility thread!

THis will only work with the 1.5 fw, and only 3.03 and under can downgrade. but then you have to check your motherboard as well now. try searching for downgrader and read. all u need to run iso is the firmware and a ms and that is it.:grin:

When i start update maker, there's an error called (8002014c).

This means the HEN C from your downloader did not work (load), you are unable to run unsigned code go to system and check fw ver. You may need to use the Lumines or the GTA downgrader.

yeah, on my psp it was about 5 seconds faster to boot with OE-C.

My firmware version is 3.03 OE-B. What must i do to work it? whenever i try those kind of stuff they dont work.

Be sure to unload your plugins before updating, if i recall there is a quick updater posted here which will take you up to OE-C check other thread if you want to go to other newer fw. We have systems on 3.03 OE-C to 3.40 and they all function well to some degree. we use them to test various psone games for compatibility not so much for iso testing. Still playing Front Mission 3 over 90hrs logged and going.

i am sorry but i have been away from the scene long enough to miss the wonderous custom firwares and specifically popstation.

My question is which is the most stable and best firware to use popstation? I was under the impression that 3.03 oe-c was the best one and that anything below 3.10 should be the optimal choice for running POPS.

We have PSPs with various fw and found that while the 3.40-0e has a lot of cool features added by $ony to the PSOne emulation some games lockup more in this version than others. We test mostly for PSOne games not ISO The lighter side of that is, more games are compatible (or can be made compatible by using an approved id, list found in these threads and other searches) From the testers 3.03 oe-c is the choice if you want to play the FF games but 3.10 has an over all stable base. 3.40 fast game load feature and swappable controller port allows for turn base 2 player action not relay found in some of the other versions (kinda useless though since only Stunt Chopper and another games made any use of this feature)

A good place to start is 3.03 test your PSOne games and if adventurous work you way up. Be careful when you hit 3.40 the game saves are not back wards compatible so save them of to you PC or something. Also pickup the seplugins to allow for game-$hark goodness if you want to test those features too. The new version does support 3.40 and is able to read the new memory saves so you can transfer your old PSOne game saves using one of many techniques found throughout the threads.
