I have formatted both mcard and hdd and tried a fresh install of plugins and still the hdd wont work (holding square doesn't even connect usbhost on the pc).

The main problem is that using the modified prx files doesn't let me see my iso's on the datel hdd so I have to keep swapping the modified and original prx's to play via hdd or usb and from what I've read playing about in flash0 isn't a very good idea :/

Can anyone help or confirm my problem please?

ps: Big thanks to The Buzzer and PSPSwampy for the mod.
As juan2320 stated - the HDD is too slow. This is an issue i've mentioned a number of times previously - but since us HDD owners are in the minority the issue hasn't been addressed. (I've since bought a 4gb stick!)

Basically when the firmware boots up it looks for the seplugins directory, the information about which plugins are enabled/disabled and the related PRX files - because of the delay due to HDD spin up times the firmware is unable to find the files and therefore assumes that you do not have any plugin's. This is why the seplugins won't work and i doubt the autoboot eboot.pbp will work either.

My suggestion (if anyone is listening?!?) was to add upto a 2sec delay on the boot up when checking for ANY files on the MS to allow for spinup. As follows:-
1. Check if MS files are contactable / exist - if they are/do then boot immediately as normal (with relevant settings).
2. If no files are found, loop around the check for 2seconds until either they ARE found (boot straight away) or are not (Boot after 2secs).
To prevent this from delaying normal users with no mod's it may be worth checking for a 'standard' folder rather than specific files? (eg if the PSP folder exists but the files are NOT found, boot normally)

Devs- let me know what you think.
HDD owners - sorry you're stuck with it as it is for now.

PSPSwampy.

Does anyone think 3.03 OE-C will work on a 2.71 Hen Firmware PSP that hasn't been downgraded to 1.5 before?

PSPSwampy I think that is good (but we need Devs for that).

crizchun yes it will work but you need to downgraded to 1.5 before you can update.

titanff Yes DevHook 0.510100 works on 3.03 OE-C. (I have DHv52 with 3.03 FW) put the files in GAME150

Thanks for the replies PSPSwampy and juan2320. I thought it was probably that because I've reading that the hdd is to slow to run psx games also. I'll have to save for a 4gb card and use that for games and use the hdd for movies and music.

Thanks again.

Does anybody know if plugins work on 3.10 OE A? Specifically a USB mod, I'd really love to be able to play MGS before my 2gb mem stick comes in.

Thanks!

should work with all custom firmwares 3.03 oe-c and above
Just a quick point here - Do not use the above with any firmware other than 3.03 OE-C. If you do, you are likely to loose some of the updated functionality of the firmware in question.

There are other versions similar to mine, done by other people which are available from the Utilities stickied thread (or psp.ps3news.com) - you should use the correct version for the firmware you have installed on your PSP.

P.S. I don't know if the other versions work or not as i've not tested them myself.

3.03_OE_UMD_Image_USB_Mount_v1.03_Plug-In is the one that works on all FWs from 3.03 to 3.10 OE-A2. (I used it on the 2 FWs) and you do not need to flash this mod to your PSP.

I have a PSP with original firmware 1.5. I followed swampy's 3.03 OE-C install guide but I'm having trouble generating a DXAR file. Ran the Updater and it reboots the device but then it says can't run application or something like that. Anybody seen this before?

I have not seen that before. Do you have all the files where they go? (tell me where)
