Firmware 1.52 is out

This morning i read that $ony has published a new version for JAP PSPs. 1.52. You can download it from here http://dj01.psp.update.playstation.o...2491/EBOOT.PBP

it's making possible to use music-umds and has some security issues solved.

Actually it's being done... just the guys doing it don't wish to publically detail their progress step-by-step is all.

can't blame them... it's harder for people to steal your work if they don't know what you're doing

now i'll just cross my fingers, step outside and go buy a psp, all followed by a prayer that someday soon i'll be able to launch some roms on it

Has anyone heard if Sony is starting to ship 1.51 (or plans on 1.52) for any units in the US yet?

All I can do is :cry: I tried what I could to get the homebrews to work on my 1.0, the only one I could get to work was pacman. None of the other "1.0" homebrews would work, so I go to Sony and update my PSP. Then I find out you guys aren't even up to 1.52 . Now nothing works at all, and I really wanted to try the homebrews like that Terra Ingognito (Which didn't work either at 1.0 or 1.52).

Heh well you could've been more unlucky like me. I tracked all the news on psp, and got really excited when i saw the bootloader and all the great development being done. So i decide to shell out for a brand spanking new PSP and this $%^# comes with 1.51 installed...

You could've upgraded from 1.0 to 1.5 from UMD like Coded Arms, but it's too late now. I hope there might be a way to downgrade somehow. That would be awesome.

Downgrading through software is useless, if you can run unsigned code needed to downgrade, you could just as easily run unsigned code to launch games.

Does the PSP have a tsop?, if so mod chips would be easy.

You're right. Bad thing is that 1.52 is old news now and it hasn't been cracked yet. Three days to go until v2.0 which for some reason i think will be a bitch to bypass.
