Disappointed with quality of PSP Games - PS3 NEWS

I have played some of the games out for the PSP, and I have to say that I am truly dissapointed by them, most of them lack content, replayability and FUN! What Pisses me off more than that, is the fact that they are charging $39 minimum for each of these piece of junk 'games', seriously, not even Lumines is worth that much, DTR lookslike it was put together by a middle school game design team, and it costs the same as a well-made PC or console game.

Portable Games are supposed to be long and entertaining, not short and boring.

I for myself, will not be buying any games until the quality of games being released begins to climb, I doubt I'd even pay $20 for any of the games out right now. I don't even feel like putting them on my MS because they are full of it. The only half-way decent ones are the sports titles which have good replayability and fun multi-player, but other than that it is really sad to see developers charging so much for games they probably made in a week.

Does anybody feel the same way? Post your feelings toward this matter.

I think coming right out of Metal Gear Solid 3 last month, I'm most upset with Metal Gear Acid. When I first saw the screens, I was like "Cool, it's like a portable MGS, I need to get this system!" I'm sure I wasn't alone in that.

Wipeout Pure is better than Wipeout Fusion for PS2. That was my first game.

My second game was Need For Speed Underground Rivals. It feels incomplete, and it's pretty obvious it was whipped together quick to get a game on the market. bought it for $60 Canadian, and Wipeout was $42 used. Wipeout blew my mind, NFSUR blew my wallet.

I wanna get Hot Shots Golf, cuz I'm a fan of the series. I want to try Lumines and see if I like it. I'm probably gonna pick up Coded Arms too, even though it sounds like a good looking Doom clone, but hell, I played alot of Doom on GBA, so this is like, the next step...right?

Dead to Rights screenshots look like crap, the reviews say the same. The Armored Core game I was excited about is gonna be a stupid Metal Gear Acid-like strategy thing.

Honestly, when I'm with friends, I'm showing off Wipeout, when I'm travelling alone, I'm playing Mario World or Kirby's Block Ball (glorified super gameboy arkanoid). I too am upset with the current library.

WHERE ARE THE FREAKIN GOOD GAMES!!!11

umm, not to flame or anything, but give it time. u cant expect a masterpiece when the painter is just learning to paint. give the developers time to test the psps limits. dont forget theres 111mhz no "official" software has used yet

. ps2 games were not much better than dreamcast games when they first came out and look at em now...

I only disapointed with the number of games.. i am whaiting for a lot of
classics, like a gran turismo mobile ad final fantasy over the launch of the system. But i know, this games are coming.. gran turismo 4 mobile have all to be considered a maste piece of gt team.. For now.. Ridge racer and Need For Speed underground has figured as the replay games on my bag.

I know it's going to take time to push the hardware. That's not my complaint. My problem is that there seems to be an attitude where developers are trying to get titles out as fast as possible so they can have something on the shelves, rather than spending time to make a good game.

I suspect NFSUR as being rushed as hell, and I'm sure some folks got yelled at cuz it wasn't a North American release title...

If you put the latest visual upgrade on a certain car, the car will scrape the ground on turns. That's not supposed to happen. Drift mode was probably thrown together in an afternoon. There's only on track, and you have to turn on special platforms that, when you're drifting, feel like they were tossed in at random places. I believe I read a few reviews that accused it of being "unpolished" as well.

well the only game i've played extensively is Ridge Racer, and that one is a blast! i love that game

I agree the game quality is pretty bad except for a few titles but I'm more annoyed that instead of releasing games they decide to push UMD movies which I for one could care less about. The PSP's movie library is almost triple what their game library is.

As stated above, good games take time. Look at "God of war" for PS2. Definately one of the top 5 games for that console IMO, yet if you beat the game and watch the making of movies you'll find out that the game was in development for like 4 years! Look how long it took them to come out with Gran turismo 4 for ps2 or halflife 2 for PC. Bottom line, good games take time, from both a technical standpoint as well as a content standpoint. For this very reason, I'm waiting like a year after the ps3 comes out before I even consider purchasing one.

For now, Wipeout rocks, Lumines is fun, if you like baseball MLB is pretty good, the emulators (esp snes) are getting alot better. My ultimate wish is for a midnight club loader to come out. I think that would edge that game up to the best game on the system without the crappy loads.

i think the games are decent early on there will be better releases coming out soon, i am happy with the games so far though i feel that this is the best portable gaming experience yet and i know it only going to get better.
