PS3 Update Checker v1.5 (Firmware Auto-Downloader) Available

Update: PS3 Update Checker v1.6 is now available, with a changelog HERE.

Here is v1.5 of my PS3 Update Checker (Firmware Auto-Downloader).

Download: PS3 Update Checker v1.5 (Firmware Auto-Downloader)

Changes:-
1. Settings load - logging blank settings issue.
2. Check that a update url is selected before attempting to getting it!
3. Check that the ps3-updatelist.txt file is actually available before trying to read it!
4. Version number *should* now update correctly once a download is complete.
5. Version number displayed on tray balloon corrected.
6. Display log with most recent items shown in window
7. Min/Max - ensure max is greater than the min!
8. Added "Downloading firmware: xx.xxxx (x/y)" to tray icon when downloading.
9. Added "Paused" Icon for when paused
10. Added "Error" Icon for when an error occurred during download.

Things i haven't added yet, but am still considering:-
1. Changing download filename to include datetime info (possibly the time the file was uploaded by $ony, but i've not had a chance to even check this is possible yet with http!)
2. (The big one) segmented downloads (ie download acceleration).

Enjoy,

PSPSwampy
p.s. Please post any bugs you spot here.

What you might have to do, is use some sort of FileStream to put what you download into, and with FileStream, you can specify a file name.

Thanks, the file is actually already written via a stream - the only issue i have is if the date is available via http response or not. I think it is but since ive not actually looked yet can't be sure

PS3 Update Checker v1.6 (Firmware Auto-Downloader) Available

Very quick update this time, wouldn't have been but i noticed annoying bug in the settings!...

Here is v1.6 of my PS3 Update Checker.

Download: PS3 Update Checker v1.6 (Firmware Auto-Downloader)

Changes:-
1. Settings - due to a balls up on my part these were not being correctly saved/loaded.
2. ps2-updatelist.txt date logged when new firmware available.
3. Downloaded firmware now has the last modified date from the file included in the filename. The filename format is now yyyymmddhhmmss_vff.ffff_PS3UPDAT.PUP (where yyyymmddhhmmss = year month day hour min sec and vff.ffff = firmware version)

No pics - same as last screenshots (only difference being the version number!)

Enjoy,

PSPSwampy

Just a quick update on this so you know i'm aware of the issue....

Re the 2.76 firmware update...
It seems that the ps3-updatelist.txt isn't *always* being cleared when it should be, which unfortunately has the effect that it didn't think a new version was available (when in fact it was!)

Bit of a big problem really, since it's supposed to be downloading straight away!

Anyway I will correct this and post an update once i've managed to get my dev environment back up and running again - Sorry guys

PSPSwampy.
