PS3 Update Checker v1.4 (Firmware Auto-Downloader) Available

Here is v1.4 of my PS3 Update Checker (Firmware Auto-Downloader).

Download: PS3 Update Checker v1.4 (Firmware Auto-Downloader)

Changes:-
1. The time of the next scheduled check is now displayed instead of "Delayed x minutes"
2. Form tidied up a bit, added separate Main, Settings and About tabs (see images below)
3. Efficiency: I've think i've resolved an issue with some threads not being disposed of properly - let me know if you notice any problems.
4. Now using the actual version string (e.g. "2.6000") instead of it's value equivalent (e.g. 2.6) - note this also affects filenames too.
5. Fixed "Clear log at application start" issue - which was ALWAYS clearing it!

Enjoy,

PSPSwampy

Thumbs up FINALLY someone listened to me!!! THANK YOU!

Greetings to you PSP Swampy, I see you put some usage notes for NORMAL and ADVANCED users... Probably you remember me, and this is exactly what I asked for some time ago!

Thank you for the work you put into this app and especially that note (which I still think should be included in every app of this kind)!!

Wasn't really necessary until he put in the drop down select. If they we're normal users they wouldn't be able to install the firmware anyway.

Actually when I recommended the drop down select for URL's I didn't thing he was going to do it. But I like it a lot better I am going to do some bug testing now XD. Also when I asked for a random timer I thought it would be too hard to program. But PSPswampy is made of WIN so he was able to do it so his peeps don't get banned XD.

I would recommend if someone can make a Mac version to do so. Although I don't really like Mac or their operating system, It's still really popular. So the chances of us getting advanced firmware are 200%.

Yes and no - it's actually been in there a while on the about box - i've just made it more obvious now!
I still don't really think it necessary because anyone who's going to actually use it should have some idea what they're doing - why take a risk and run software on your pc if you don't know the developer or what it actually does! (You'd have to be a bit stupid to run unknown software wouldn't you!)
