is there a proper tutorial for this thing?

when i try and download the ridge racer demo it says 423mb, should it change to the size of the rub a dub package which is 184mb?

if you're downloading the 185mb package from your computer, your PS3 will display that - since you're not seeing the 185mb package, you're not doing something right.... read STEP BY STEP from the tutorial that was already written on this subject and you'll get it just fine

I can bypass firmware check, but I never tried installing demo. Is this how to install the full activiation for Super Rub a Duck?

then i just click Start and the file will automatically xfer to my ps3?

Ok so if i have to update to 1.51 whats the easiest way to do that without buying or renting a game that needs it.

ok so one i download it i just put it to a USB hard drive and load it that way? i just wanna make sure i install it right.

Correct. Personally once you hooked your USB HDD to the PS3 I would press triangle on the update file and COPY to the PS3 HDD just in case

So i copoied it to the root of my external HD but i dont know how to go into the ps3 and view the files and copy it over. do i have to make a partition thats FAT32 and do it that way? or can it reconize my NTFS hard drive

Forgive my noobness but i have a few questions (new to PS3 - just recieved my PS3) I'll walk through what I gather are the right instructions:

1. Download PS3 Proxy GUI
2. Download SimpleDNS
3. Set the DNS address in Simple DNS to my computers IP
4. Set the IP in the PS3Proxy GUI to same as my computer
5. Set DNS on PS3 console to same IP as my computers
6. Put PS3 Proxy GUI into ps3 mode and connect.
7. Try to access PS3Store using the PS3's webbrowser

Am I correct?

No, you have to put a link that you want to use as source (like the demo of ridge racer for example) and at the right the local link of the pkg you want to install. To spot the link to use as source go in the store and click on a demo then check the log, the first link is the last you clicked so it is the one that you have to use.

Ah! For those that use Vista, i installed PS3.Proxy on a Vista PC of a friend copying my installed files on his PC, Vista come with Net Framework 2.0 preinstalled and doesn't allow 1.1 to be installed (that is the framework that PS3.Proxy require) although the program could work fine on 2.0 too. So if you have vista simple use the installed files of a friend and you're set.
