PS3 Firmware Version Check Bypassed thread!

OK for all those who want to use the spoof using Windows here is how i did it.

First download ettercap for windows from here
( https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=17435&package_id=130431 )
I used ettercap-NG-0.7.2-win32.exe

Afterwards you install that you will need to download winpcap from ( http://www.winpcap.org/install/bin/WinPcap_4_0.exe )

after you get both those installed you need to replace the etter.dns with the one from ps3news

Now run ettercap
choose the tab that says sniff --> unified Sniffing
choose your network adapter and press ok

next go to the tab that says plugin -->manage plugins
select dns_spoofing (should be third on the list)

then under tab that says start
select start sniffing

then under hosts tab
scan for hosts

lastly go to Mitm --> Arp poisoining
Select one way poisoning

and you are set.

Works for me using windows xp with a laptop.

By the way do you have some info on the structure and files of sony Website (the update one).

I've my own webserver and DNS at home that's mean i don't need to have a linux and DNS spoofing mecanism because i can edit my own DNS and create my own sony website . but i don't any info on the update files requested by the PS3.

I manually setup my ps3 before and when i change the primary dns to my ip address of my pc, and changed the secondary dns to the same thing. It doesnt work. was i just suppose to chnage just the primary dns and that is all?
