Today was the first day of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, USA and among a lot of new technology making its debut were the next generation DVD formats - Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. Expect more over the next 3 days as CES continues. We have already seen external players by http://www.engadget.com/2006/01/04/pioneer-bdp-hd1-blu-ray-player-coming-in-may/ & http://www.i4u.com/article4841.html and a recorder by http://us.gizmodo.com/gadgets/ces/panasonics-bluray-recorder-146588.php. If you're wondering when you will be able to play something on these players $ony Pictures has launched their http://www.sonypictures.com/bluray which comes along with this http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/060104/law066.html?.v=41 of upcoming movie releases on the new format slated for release this spring/summer. This is Day 1 of the show, I will try to update this thread if more Blu-ray news comes along in the next couple of days. I can't wait till PS3 is out and all this is just a big tease at this point. Cheers
