Hi ,

I brought a cheap keyboard for 20 bucks, my PC and PS3 recognised it, but the kboot/Yellowdog did not, showed me an infinite loop of message and from internet I was able to figure out that the keyboard is not supported..

Can somebody tell me which is a cheap kwyboard that is supported by yellowdog linux on ps3..

I went out and grabbed a Dynex USB keyboard for something like $15. It was at Best Buy and it works like a charm!

I have a 55' TV but it doesnt do 720 it only does 480p or 1080i because of this the resolution of Yellow Dog is either too big or too small. YD wont let me change the monitor settings that option say something like the montior is unrecognized.

Any ideas?

No luck there man. That'd be like running a resolution on a computer monitor that doesn't support it.

I think your best bet will be to see if there's a way to magnify fonts in YDL.

How do you set a Static IP in YDL? I get a weird error when trying to view add/remove programs. it tells me i am not connected to the internet. i can get online fine. i use static ip's here at home so i wanted to set one for YDL as well but don't now how. I have a router, think that could be it? i tried to open ports for samba but still no go.

I also can see a Network icon in Mycomputer (on YDL) and see my workgroup (mshome) but when i try to view that it tells me it can't display anything...that is as close to my shares as i can get so far:??

sry i am new to linux, used it before in small doses to admin a COD server but that is it...

Is there any walk through currently that could take a noob from installing Linux all the way to dumping a game? I'm fairly computer saavy, but I'm nervous about manipulating my PS3 without having a better understanding of everything... beyond that, are the games being dumped and then rendered playable through a bootloader of some sort... thanks for the help sorry if I'm in a bad topic for this post.

Just installed YDL 5.0 with complete success! It was pretty painless.

hey all,

I have installed FC5 and did not like it on the PS3. I really like YD5 alot (because it supports my tv). I am currently playing movies (avi and dvd) using mplayer. The only problem I am currently facing is that the display of the movies does not come out so well when you try to enlarge them. Playing them in normal mode is fine, but you will see a lot of black border. Now...does anyone one know how to play Blu Ray via mplayer? How about HD-DVD via mplayer? =) heh heh
